What year model is the Packard. ::tu:: Ken
I don't know. It was parked in front of a restaurant in my town and just took a quick picture of it. I think it's what they used to call a touring car...

Here's another. This is a stucco wall with the dead remnants of a clinging vine that once clung there.

Click to flip upright.

I have this as the wallpaper on my phone right now, other wise it is the silhouette of Dewey Staggs, the SF soldier standing on the big rock. Actually, I took that photo with a Yashica Electro-35 in 1969, but it's been uploaded to the phone.

This is a print of a 35mm KodaChrome I took at the mouth of the inlet pass in Destin, FL in 1982. It should have been a color photo, but overexposure from looking almost directly into the late afternoon or evening sun washed it out to this sepia effect.

I liked it and had an 8 x 10 print made, matted and framed and it has hung in our den ever since.

Those are three pelicans atop the inlet
beacon.

Click to enlarge and flip upright. I cannot get it to load upright. I've tried. ::shrug::

Looks like a 1934 to me but might be a '33. Packard called it a Convertible Sedan. A real work of art! ::tu::

That's a beautiful old Packard.

Looks like there is a retractable glass between the driver's seat and the passenger compartment. I suspect it was originally a chauffeur driven limo.

What a car.

Here's a '33 Packard that's part of the extensive collection on display at the Owls Head Transportation Museum at Owls Head, Maine, along with the placard that tells about it. Truly a beautiful automobile. Interesting stuff.

That old car reminded me of the first car I ever drove on a public street [without a licence, at 14]
The Packard my Dear Old Dad had, was a 1948 Clipper 8 cylinder side valve. Thanks for the memories... Ken

I worked on Rolls-Royce cars for 48 years, they were a copy of Packard.
I worked with Air Conditioning for over 35 years, Packard was the first car in the world to have Air Conditioning.
Even the first car in the world to have a steering wheel. ::ds::

They were taken with my phone, but uploaded from the PC, which has the same photo files.

I flipped that Destin photo every way, but backwards and it still wouldn't show up on AAPK in an upright position.

Thank you, Jerry.

I'm sure many here have heard the news of the Boy Scouts National Jamboree going on right now due to the President's speech on Monday. The 2017 National Scout Jamboree is held from July 19 to July 28, 2017 and the site will also be hosting the 2019 World Jamboree. Patch trading has always been huge at the Jamboree and I wanted to share the patches produced for this years Jamboree from the Allegheny Highlands Council. Enjoy!

The Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve, often shortened as Summit Bechtel Reserve (SBR) is located in Fayette and Raleigh Counties, near Beckley West Virginia and is adjacent to the New River Gorge National River. In 2009, the BSA announced the acquisition of the property comprising the main 10,600 acre site. Its acquisition was made possible through a $50,000,000 donation from the Stephen D. Bechtel, Jr. Foundation, the largest in the history of the BSA. In 2010 the BSA announced that total donations had reached $100 million (in 1 year ::nod:: ), including a $25 million donation from the Suzanne and Walter Scott Foundation.

Sorry for the loss of your friend, Ted. It's unusual for a big dog to make it that long, so you must have really taken good care of Bailey.
