A few new ones that I've picked up over the last 3 weeks, all pre 1970.
Love the barlows John.

Mailman came bearing 18's. I'm not a collector (yet) so this is a big photo for me. I'm keeping the antique smooth bone. The rest are Birthday presents for my sons.

Hey John,

If you set the self controll "bar-low", you can achieve it! ::tu::  And we can see that you have done that. Good Job! ::handshake:: Those are some great looking pieces of Fine Cutlery. I especially like that stockman you picked up! ::tu:: ::super_happy::

And remember...,

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

― Philippians 4:13

This includes buying too many knives in a short period of time, just keep the "bar-low" on em Barlows! ::nod::

Nice gifts Bill! I like the one on the top right corner. ::tu:: ::super_happy::

David, thank you, it's awful hard for me to turn down a high condition red bone Barlow if I can find it for a decent price.

Thank you all for the nice comments ::tu:: ::tu:: ::tu::

Thanks Tom. My 30 yr old son is a firefighter and my 26 yr old is pretty much a cowboy so I was pretty excited to get those.

I bought two separate lots of items and these two knives were included, one in each lot. I didn't buy the lots for these knives and I'm certainly not complaining. Both are pictured below, along with the "specs" on the knives. One is definitely from 1992, the other, I'm not sure of, but also from 199X(?) I have no intention of doing what the package says and "Collect Them All." ::facepalm::

Harry Gant retired in 1994. I would guess they're both right in that 91 92 range. Cool find Skip! I had forgot about the Skoal Bandit car. Their reps used to drive matching cars and come to college campuses (in South Dakota anyway) and give away samples and promotional knives but I never saved any.

Thank you Bill. ::tu:: I know this is a CASE thread, but the #33 car had SCHRADE as one of it's sponsors. Here is Harry Gant posing with the car at the Talladega, Alabama track. Look to the right of his arm. Click to ENLARGE.

I like orange and good Lord knows I like fires so this burnt orange Case knife might not be sold for a while...

My question is, I think this 2003 6318 is factory fresh and the grind marks on the blade make it cut like a saw.....jagged. Is that
how Case knives come from the factory? They need sharpening?

Knice one, Scott.
I have noticed a bit of toothy-ness on new Case knives. Each one seems a bit different. I know they're hand sharpened, and no doubt everyone has their own little technique. Not sure how toothy yours is, but maybe a Friday 4:58pm job? 😉

And that completes the review.....I WILL NOT be carrying this knife ever!!! Can't put an edge on any blade that doesn't still cut like a saw.

Oh well///////

Scott, they might have just not removed the burr on that. I have had some come in that way fresh from the factory. It’s not hard to fix. Just establish the way the burr is leaning and take it down a sharpening stone the opposite to break the burr off. After that it should be much better.

This knife arrived today. Pictures #1 & #2 - It's a 1993 Case, single drop point (etched) blade, zytel handles, lockback pocket knife. Case made a series of pocket knives featuring NASCAR drivers. This knife features Harry Gant, driver of the #33, SKOAL BANDIT race car. I didn't specifically buy this item, it was included in a group of items that I bought. It is in MINT condition in the original, plastic container.
Also arriving today (the remaining pictures), a 2012 Case XX, 6207 SS, 2 blade, MINI TRAPPER with Olive Green handles, pocket knife. It came with the original box. It needed absolutely no cleaning.

Your lack of self control would send me to the poor house. ::nod::

So badly need a red bone 62009R. XX era, USA era, even dot era is fine. My Case Barlow collection feels incomplete without one. ::disgust::

IMO about 75% of new knives need sharpening right from the factory. Case has occasionally sent out some jagged edges, though, and I often wonder why some folks give Case more leeway when it comes to F&F than they do other American makers like Bear or the DFC-era Queen.

That orange 18 is a real beauty, Scott. I think it would go great with my orange camel bone #43. Give me a heads up when you get tired of it. 8)
