If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

I was digging around through some of the "stuff" I've compiled through the years and unearthed my grandmothers Kodak 3A folding camera plus my fathers 1930 Kodak anniversary camera. I remembered there were some scans of photos taken with both cameras so grabbed a couple of the 3A pic scans plus took pics of the 3A. It's a neat old camera and if there was film available for it I wouldn't hesitate for a moment on using it. The scans I chose were taken during a 1929 camping trip from Elgin, IL to Duluth, MN and back. School yards, road sides and farmers fields were the chosen camp grounds on that trip. My grandfather rented a 1924 Hupmobile to make the trip in.

Evidently the last pic is of a ship of some notoriety as seen in the attached video:

Greg,
As I blew up your picture, I believe your California "gal" is a "guy". That turkey has a beard, probably a gobbler. :)

It might be Phillip. It didn't get close enough for me to tell for sure and my poor little 4x zoom on this camera phone was straining to get the shot. :D

Always liked this one I took, looks like a satellite or high altitude drone image. Can you tell what it really is?

Looks like a place where runoff water has run onto some beach sand. Here in Florida a lot of runoff has the tannic color as it over flows creeks and will stain the white beach sand. At least I see folks are able to walk on what ever it is. ::hmm:: Don't keep us in suspense, MadHungarian, I need to be able to sleep tonight. ::poke::

You were exactly right, taken in Myrtle Beach by Dune's Point where the water came in and out of the salt water marsh with the tide. Good eye sir and even picked out the footprints. :)

MH, when I was in 5th or 6th grade I received a simple black box camera. No adjustments to be made. You took the picture and you got what you got. So I found this pile of dirt and imagined that if I stood on top of it and photographed looking down the side of it, it would look like I was looking down a mountain side. When I got the Kodax film developed I discovered that my pile of dirt looked exactly like a pile of dirt.
At least it was a lesson in perspective. And the realization that I needed a better camera. ::doh::
