Nice looking knife, I ordered one as well.KLJ77 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 15, 2025 7:06 pm I received an email advert last week from Red Hill Cutlery regarding this Commemorative Barlow with oak handles made from the flooring of the WWII barracks that were at Ft Knox, Kentucky. There were two designs, a large Barlow and a smaller Barlow, but both were identical except for their size.
Anyway, I clicked on the link to the Patton Museum located at Ft Knox and filled out the purchase form for the large Barlow. I gave a 'donation' for the knife. These knives were commissioned through RHC and the knives were made by Bear & Sons out of Alabama. 100 of each were made.
I believe they did a really nice job on these knives...at least I'm very pleased with the one I received. I'll eventually end up gifting it to my Son in Law who was in the Army, albeit, he was never stationed at Ft Knox. But it will be a nice memento for him.
Thanks for looking...
My qustion is, were you at Ft Knox?

I got two knives in the mail on the same day last week. Both from other members and both are incredible knives. Made for one happy dude on my favorite day of the week... knife day!
First up is this absolute banger from LKSKNIVES (Steve). It's a Fox Cutlery with ebony scales. Half stops and rock solid snap on both blades. Really excellent condition on a fantastic knife. Steve also kindly included a Syracuse pen knife and another project knife in the box, which arrived with lightning speed. I reached out to other members of the forum to help with fair pricing and I would like to thank them for their time and input and for helping me to bring this lovely piece home. I can't say enough about how easy and pleasurable it is to work with Steve, thanks again buddy.
Next up is this Van Camp EO also with ebony. This knife came in smelling of fresh ocean breeze, but certainly not on island time. It shipped from Hawaii on the same day as the other, which came from the next state over, and they arrived same day. Riddle me that. Any who, this knife is mechanically sound and full of character, an excellent addition to my carry rotation. Couldn't be happier with my purchase or buying experience from QTCut5.

That's my Etsy store where I sell old knives and sometimes handmade knife accessories to support my knife habbit. Thanks for looking my friend.

Those are some wonderful old knives, HOKs for sure!
Can't match any of them but we do have a Fanz Swaty razor hone. Found it in the attic of the old farm house we bought back in 1973.

Sorry for the late reply.
No, I was never at Ft Knox. I was Navy, but my Son-in-Law was Army, but never stationed at Ft Knox. I'll be gifting my knife to him. It will be a nice commemorative knife for him.
Sorry for the late reply.

Case has always had some of the best looking bone handles used on knives. That sea dragon is pretty.
I like those two trappers, especially the Rough Rider with the Damascus blades.
I treated myself to two knives from my own store. These two mammoth ivory knives have sat too long so I moved them to my collection. These two have been on my mind ever since I added them to my store. Glad to have these. Wendell Carson knives are simply beautiful. He made some great looking knives.

Here's another catch from the shallow end of the bay. I confess that I do wade around in the bay and make some bids and usually there is the notice, "You've been outbid", this time I wasn't.
As you can see it's a Sears Stainless USA 95415 lockback. Surprised at how good this one feels in my hand! Appears to still have the factory edge.
Rooting around on the internet, it appears this one was probably made by Camillus.
If I didn't already have an EDC this one would work. Treefarmer

Got this one from our own Ryan Snell. It is a Shapleigh Hardware 72 copy. It has a broken coping blade but I didn't have one with this tang stamp. Thanks for a smooth transaction Ryan.

I received my copy today and was a little disappointed to discover the stop on the back of the blade was not fitted correctly so that the blade doesn't open fully. When open, the blade is tilted like a Kukri.KLJ77 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 15, 2025 7:06 pm I received an email advert last week from Red Hill Cutlery regarding this Commemorative Barlow with oak handles made from the flooring of the WWII barracks that were at Ft Knox, Kentucky. Just received this Colt 175th Anniversary jack. I believe these were made in the same plant that now turns out Rough Ryder traditional pocket knives.
The Fit & Finish is much better than the US made Bear & Son, Ft Knox commemorative, that I also received today.

Big old bone coke bottle. Need help with the maker, please. Front tang stamp is all but gone - can make out "Cutlery." It has a symbol (below) on the rear tang on the main blade that I hope someone here can identify. Thanks!

Too bad Ken, I would send that back to the dealer you bought it from. I’m surprised Bear would let that one out the door with that defect. I sent a Bear barlow back to Red Hill that had a pin crack on a new knife, they took it back with no problem. Replaced it with one that didn’t.ken98k wrote: ↑Fri Aug 08, 2025 10:21 pmI received my copy today and was a little disappointed to discover the stop on the back of the blade was not fitted correctly so that the blade doesn't open fully. Got this 3.5" Trapper from Moore Maker in the mail today.
I've been waiting for them to lower the price a little on the Mesquite Wood Handle. The description states it is "1095 HC steel hardened to 56+/- 1 Rockwell." One of the guys saw my name on the order and went ahead and wrote "Bear + Son Jacksonville, FL." I also had them engrave
SR. CHIEF ROBERTS on the mark side. It will be a good EDC knife.
