Red R, Nice pearls. The smaller one does have Aluminum Bolsters, its a No.2771. NYKC made these on contract for HSB, they call them fancy bolsters ::tu:: BH

Redrider,

I love those pruners, especially the worm groove. ::drool::

The bolsters on your Hibbared are aluminum, which for a time was more expensive than gold. I have one marked Walden. Here is a catalog picture that I think you will like.

Thanks for the replies and info everyone, greatly appreciated. ::tu::

I was hoping maybe Steve would check out that Tested pruner. It has definitely been thoroughly cleaned but the bone thickness matches the descriptions I have read.

Almost forgot, and this goes with knifegirl's post, I did find this picture today. The bottom knife has the same bolster decoration, I guess it would be a "gentleman's" knife.

My bird hunting partner is a PA at one of those "doc in the box" places. He knows I like pocketknives and mailed two to me this week, a real SAK and a Chinese knock-off, both with drug company brands emblazoned on them - here is the VICT SAK with an unusual blade from what I am used to seeing on the little Classic.

Cutty, Don't know about the date but I thought Shrade+ indicated a stainless steel blade? Treefarmer
