Re: wirejacks
This morning, this knife arrived and became the latest addition to my wire jack collection. It's a GEO SCHRADE, single blade, wire handle pocket knife. This knife has two tang stamps. It didn't need any cleaning at all. I took some pictures and here is the knife.

Re: wirejacks
I just obtained this scout style, utensil kit for best offer. I normally don't bid on or buy these kits, unless there's a knife I need. I'm not sure about the date(s) on the knife and fork. This is NOT meant in a nasty way, here is the seller's description.
"Here We Have A Vintage Pouch Made from Pigskin Chow Kit With Wire Frame Folding Fork, Knife And Simpson Nickel Silver Spoon. Have Seen Several of These Wire Frame Knives Most Are Marked Geo. Schrade These Are Only Marked With A Patent Date Of (Very Hard To Read So Guessing A Little Bit) 3-31-35 .Utensils Are All In Good Condition Could Use A Good Cleaning And Polish If So Desired And Pouch Is Dry Needs Oil. Please Let Our Pictures Be The Best Description Of This Item. Please Continue To Visit Our Listings And Please Remember We Always Combine Shipping. If You Have Questions On This Or Any Of Our Items Please Ask."
I don't think I've ever seen ANY of these types of knives, I don't know about the forks, stamped with a 1935 patent date. The tang stamp on the knife looks like one that I don't have. I can't wait to get this utensil kit!

Cool pick up Skip. I'll have to dig mine out and see how it is stamped. I know there is nothing on my spoon.

Thank you Floyd.
***** UPDATE *****
As of the time on this post, the utensil kit is in Kansas City, Kansas. It's "expected" to be here this Wednesday, the 10th. I do not have my hopes up for a 1935 patent date on either the knife, the fork, or on both.

Re: wirejacks
This morning, this knife joins my collection. It is an unbranded, single blade, wire handle pocket knife. More than likely, a GEO SCHRADE. This knife came out of the scout style, utensil kit, that I bought last week (a few posts above this one). The seller thought it might have a 1935 patent date, it doesn't, it has a 1926 patent date. It didn't require much cleanIng. I took pictures, here it is.

Cool Skip, sorry it didn't have an unusual date. I checked mine and it has the 1942 date.

Still, a very nice Wirejack even though it wasn't the year you were looking for. But look on the bright side.......the hunt continues!! And isn't that really half the fun of collecting?New_Windsor_NY wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 4:20 pm This morning, this knife joins my collection. Re: wirejacks
No Smitty, the hunt doesn't continue. There is no 1935 patent date for the wire handle knife, or for the wire handle fork. But the tang stamp isn't that common, so I'm not disappointed.Papa Bones wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2020 5:07 amStill, a very nice Wirejack even though it wasn't the year you were looking for. Skip must have been sleeping. First time in weeks that I snatched one off of ebay before he got me. It's rusty but it's got a double tang stamp I need.

No joeradza, not sleeping. My attention was diverted down a different collecting path.
Congratulations on the double tang stamp.

Re: wirejacks
I just received these today. A Boy Scout Mess Kit in excellent condition. The case is supple with no names inscribed and the spoon and fork look unused. The knife is still in great shape although it does show signs of use. Couldn’t resist at the price of a couple of Big Mac’s. The small spear point has the double tang stamp so that fills a gap.
