Great knives, crap seller! I can't believe not mentioning those issues in the listing, but you got some very cool knives, Kevin. Go after them!knifeaddict1965 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 17, 2024 1:16 am Great pick-ups everyone!
Got these in the mail a couple days ago. Unfortunately, the seller's pictures did not show the back side of the blades where someone had written prices on them at some point with a sharpie (fortunately not the prices I paid). Also, had a back spring broken on the 5254D trapper that was not mentioned in the listing. I was obviously disappointed with these issues, but still like the knives and got them for a pretty good price.
Haven't had a chance to clean the blades up yet but will try a couple of options that will hopefully do the trick and I will likely send the trapper back to Case for repair under warranty. I have contacted the seller and will hopefully we can resolve these issues with a partial refund.

Thanks Kerry & Tony! I did start cleaning the blades with WD-40 and it seems to be working pretty well to remove the markings.Corn Creek Cutlery wrote: ↑Sat Feb 17, 2024 1:33 am NICE ones Treefarmer, Rob, and Addict!! Shame that the blades are Sharpie marked ... worse not disclosed.
I have a fair amount of Case Damascus knives I have picked up over the years, but there were three in this group I didn't have. So, even though I was disappointed, I am still somewhat happy to add these to the collection. Hopefully, I can get that back spring replaced under warranty in a reasonable timeframe and have them all back and in good shape.

Thanks Q! I agree, a few of them have some really nice stag (even nicer than the pictures show), and you know how much I love me some stag. Hope to have them all back to good shape in short order.

That's a great group you scored, Kevin, shame about the seller's deviousness, but as ~Q~ said, at least it's fixable stuff.
Beautiful stag on all those beauties.

Thanks Marco! Always appreciate your feedback... Got'em all cleaned up today and the blades look much better. I would love to know who the heck thought using a permanent marker on the blades was a good idea.

Just an oldie from Solingen. Both blades Stamped W.W. (over) Solingen. The wood is dark, the blades are sharp, good snap & some blade rub. Wanted to add a leather lanyard to it but this leather is too thin & it doesn't look right so I'll have to get some thicker leather & try it again.
At 3 3/4" without the bail, it will make a nice carry & user.
Thanks for looking!

Regarding the broken spring, is that something you have the skills to repair yourself, or if not there are tons of guys here who can do it, although I have a feeling you can look after it yourself.
Please show us when it's done!

Actually, I think I will send it back to Case for a warranty repair. Due to my total lack of patience, I hate to send it away for 4 to 6 weeks, but it sounds like they do good work.Madmarco wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2024 7:48 pmYep, you never know what some people's children will screw up next, Kevin.knifeaddict1965 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2024 5:48 amThanks Marco! Nice little half whittler with Wharncliffe style frame, Tom. First one like that I've seen with a bail.
Curious about the closed length. I'm guessing 3 1/8" ??

Hi Q,
Thanks for the comments and it is 3 3/4" closed. 4" if you count the bail.

Thanks Gdogg! i forgot to say when describing it, how well it conceals with the deep carry clip. In jeans there is no print, and even though it is a heavier knife, I keep checking to see if it is still there. I plan to use this one quite a bit and see how it holds up. By the way, you have inspired me and others to post pictures of all our carries like your Sig pic. Necessary in today's world.
TooMany ... missed your comment earlier. Many thanks!!

Went back to GEC and picked up the right knife yesterday. #13 congress with a Wharncliffe blade in stag. She had just puy a couple in the sales room.
