Very nice, Cman! They are both sweet, but the bone on that Dr's. knife is great!

Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
Well I am not trying to show off, but I have another Mail Call today.
This package is from the November Giveaway, and it is two beautiful Case knives that were generously donated by cbnutt! I just laid these on my Bible on the nightstand for a quick pic, but these bones are so pretty that I need to get them outside here soon and take better pictures, so that y'all can better see just how they catch the light.
I am beyond excited!

Great pick up Rev. I watched it a while. Glad you got it.Reverand wrote: ↑Tue Dec 05, 2023 12:20 pm I fished this knife out of the 'Bay by being the only bidder.
It is a Robeson Carpenter's Choice. The tang stamp is all but worn away, and I can only barely make out part of the "Shuredge" cursive script.
When I did a search for the pattern number 132433, I found where a visitor to the forum had posted and gotten answers on this exact same knife!

I only have one other Robeson knife, and it is newer and I think was made by Camillus, so that makes this my first real Robeson. I believe that the main blade is shortened a bit, but it still looks great to me. At first I had thought that the small blade on the end was worn down, but realized that it was shaped like that from the factory.
With steel bolsters and liners, it was probably made during WW II. She has great snap, and a #2 pencil and some steel wool has already improved the appearance.
All in all, it is a HOK that will receive a good sharpening and some pocket time here soon!

Rev, those are nice. I must say that Case has always had some of the best knife covers used. They are especially good with bone covers.

Nice catch, Scott!
Winning something is always sweeter than just buying it yourself, including your 2 new models!
They couldn't have gone to a nicer guy, Bravo!

These arrived recently more for their good looks than anything else!
A big ole' 8 1/2" Rigid all-metal slip-joint linerlock, featuring a shield blade release that pushes the single liner out of the way for closing when pressed! Fat n' heavy knife! This 9 1/2" KANDAR mid-lock slip-joint with faux ivory covers, filework, and garden etchings! Another fat n' heavy example! One more fat n' heavy 8 1/2" Fury 10586 lockback, sporting an unusual blade configuration and textured rubber handle inserts! That blade is wicked looking in person, and 4mm thick! My considerably skinnier J J Martinez 8 1/4" slip-joint Albacete that's highly decorative and has a faux fulcrum-release lever cuz it's a slip-joint! Thinner n' lighter knife! This slimmest of the bunch totally unmarked manual 8 1/2" RPK lockback, features a dagger blade and ribbed lockback release lever! Skinny n' lightweight!

Relationships based "more on good looks than anything else" don't usually last, just ask Jimmy Soul.
However, that is a good group of knives you are showing there. If you lived in Canada,
would they all be legal?

I see you seem to have caught the comedy gene, Ike, and as long as you're funny that's allowed, although, you're sarcasm will take some getting use to!
I feel like I should know who Jimmy Soul is, but.....?
I hope you're joking bout' me living in Canada, eh, cuz by this time you should know that I do, eh, and each and every one of those knives is Canadian legal, eh!

Jimmy Soul sang the song"If you wanna be happy for the rest of you life, never make a pretty woman your wife.." you gotta be old to remember that one. Your wording reminded me of that song.
I know full well that you live in Canada. I thought you had to deal with some pretty restrictive laws on knives and I worded my inquiry that way in case the CSIS was looking in. I guess I was thinking of certain localities within the States that have enacted laws on knife ownership.

Like I said, Ike, some gettin' use to! I haven't quite figured out your sense of humor just yet, but I'm sure havin' fun finding out about it!
I am old, and I certainly recognize the song, just not the singer,
so thanks for filling me in!
Regarding Customs, don't give that another thought, cuz me and Customs have an understanding, they don't put their greasy little fingers on my knives, and I won't come by their homes at night and kill them! It's working pretty well!
Seriously though, I pulled my pants down and bared my a*s to this forum about my creative shipping methods and such long ago, so what they know or think they know means little to me. After one certain seizure of my knives I contacted them about it and went as far as to dare them to take me to court, since doing so would give me the opportunity to expose to everyone their illegal practises involving seizures, as well as the chance to perhaps institute some new knife laws, but they backed right off and I don't even get nasty letter from them anymore when they seize a knife I have coming.
A few power hungry agents who wanted to work their way up the ranks ruined things for everyone by making seizures on knives being imported that we could already buy up here in lots of stores, and they did it all on their own since there are still no laws on the books that discourage their behavior for these models. The bottom-line is, I don't care if they're watching!
Can you say ILLEGAL search and seizure?

Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
Thanks, Kerry, I'm glad you like em'!
Out of the 5, the 2 you like best are the 2 I like best also, mind you, the big Rigid is one solid folder and would tackle just about anything you could throw at it, but for the sake of good looks the 2 skinnies are the nicest. The remaining 2 were impulse buys that I certainly could have lived without.
I have 35 more new knives to post yet, and a few of them are the nicest knives in my current accumulation, so watch for them!
I appreciate your compliments, buddy!

Did you forget the hyphen, as in 3-5? Did you buy out a large portion of someone's collection? Maybe it is none of my business, but 35 new knives is impressive.

Hey Ike!
No, there's no hyphen it's 35/thirty-five.
I didn't buy anyone's collection, but they raised my credit card limits recently so I did go on a bit of a spree.
I use to post any new knives I received pretty much right away, but somewhere along the line I got busy and fell out of the habit so I have this back-log to post now.
Because I let it get this far it's seeming like a job to do the posts, so I need to wait til I get inspired again before I sit down to the task.
The good news is, I ALWAYS get inspired again!
Please don't feel you're minding my business either, my life is an open book!
If you're impressed by the number, just wait til you see the knives, there's something for everyone to enjoy!

A few more caught in the shallow end of the bay:
All are stockman patterns beginning at the top, wooden handle Craftsman 95234, Schrade 899, Schrade 855 and the one I really like is the 4-inch Queen #9. It has the 1958-'60 stamp.
As you can see, all these are used but still have enough life to be a HOK.

A bit of creative financing maneuvers some thought to my collecting tactics and I made it to GEC this AM.
Pretty happy with this little Jack. I got to pick from several and I think this was the best.

Congratulations, Rob, your first GEC and a beautiful B + T fixer!
I've never been a hunter, but I would still love to own some of the B + T's I've seen, like you said, they're cool!
The Japanese make some exceptional models!
Very nice indeed!
