what a beauty! I really love the Winterbottom handles. One of my EDCs is a well worn #49 shown in my avatar, the other is an unsharpened 49 showing the original color. The imitation Winterbottom is quite durable as we all know but doesn't have the great lookof the real stuff.
Great old knives these Queens! I'm not prejudiced, I like old Cases and Treebrands, too. ::tu::

I have somewhat of a back-log of knives I've recently received so I'm going to start posting them today.
For some of the lower-end "fun" knives I'll post a few at a time, then when I get to the higher quality pieces I'll be more descriptive.
I'm going to start with this pile of all-metal folders.
Here goes!
8)
This is a nice n' heavy C. Jul Herbertz 6 1/2" oal lockback.
WIN_20230829_20_53_43_Pro.jpg
WIN_20230829_20_53_20_Pro.jpg
An unmarked 7" oal key-chain slip-joint fingernail cleaner.
WIN_20230215_12_09_32_Pro.jpg
WIN_20230215_12_08_58_Pro.jpg
This one is a 6 1/4" oal Parker linerlock.
WIN_20231005_13_47_48_Pro.jpg
WIN_20231005_13_47_36_Pro.jpg
A 6" oal Zippo slip-joint mid-lock watch/change pocket gent's knife.
WIN_20230824_13_42_40_Pro.jpg
WIN_20230824_13_42_15_Pro.jpg
A somewhat larger than the others 8" oal S & W linerlock all-round utility folder.

Thank you, Ike!
These are only 5 "logs" posted, I still have close to 20 more to post, so I'm only 1/4 of the way through the logjam!
And how in the world were you able to make out my hat from those dark pictures? ::shrug:: Here's a better view!

In today's mail was this Buck Limited Edition 503 Prince. It festures Mammoth Ivory and Tooth, polished 420 HC steel, nickle bolsters and was apparently crafter by a singke craftsman, Dan Peretti who has been with Buck sunce 1976.

Fit and finish is very nice except the tail end opposite the bolster. The tooth material has a small gap between the scale and the body at the end. It looks like there is a black filler in there or maybe that is polishing compound. I may just keep it, but I'm concerned that the gap could weaken that scale.

Thanks. Yesah, the 503 fills a big gap when a 110 or 112 is just too big for the occasion.

Thanks. It will eventually go into my carry rotation for those days where a smaller knife just makes sense. The first cut with the blade will cause me to pause, but all my knives are tools to a degree, and careful use patina just adds to their beauty.

Well these two showed up in the mail last week. The case is as new, never carried or sharpened. The scales look lighter in the pics than they really are...they are shade or two darker in person. I need to pull up the info and see if I can tell when it was made, I am guessing that it is not very old. This will go into my rotating carry pile.

The Western is very cool and in very nice condition...I was shocked that I got it for the price off the auction site. I don't think it has been carried much...I'll change that...it will also go into the carry pile.

I wouldn’t be as reluctant to use that beautiful knife, as I would be concerned about losing or damaging it. I agree with you about the patina. Knives are tools true enough but your new acquisition is truly a work of art as well.
My honest opinion for what it is worth.

Steve McNatt and Vincenzo Balistreri teamed up to produce this version of a saddlehorn. It’s 4” closed with black micarta scales and the most magnificent clip point blade of AEB-L steel. I’ve been fortunate to handle some wonderful knives in my years, but I honestly feel this is “the one.”
