Sweet!! Cute Luna.
Back in the day we had a kitty that did the same. We had a place set for her. She would pick up the food off her plate with her paw and eat. Whiskey was her name. 😍

Nice, John. I bet it was a sight to see. 😻

Old man Tucker out sunning himself on this beautiful Indiana day. We call this his sphinx pose. We rescued him when he was just a few months old. He was caught out roaming the streets and taken to a shelter. We fell in love with this beautiful dog. He is 13 now and you can see his age in his white face. He is the quiet one of the pack unless he is howling at something strange, then he sounds like a wolf, it’s scary how threatening it sounds.

Thanks RR. I don’t take enough pictures of him. The others are so active and always cracking us up, but there is Tucker just quietly observing it all. He is a beautiful dog.

What sweet, gentle, loved animals being shown.

Been a rough patch. Could be worse.

Mr Bear is outside the wire. Perimeter. He has dug a horizontal den, among numerous other caverns to escape the heat.
Dig up, he is out. Bear is 140#. Long and tall. People are in awe when they see him. He can turn around in the den it's big.

Funny to watch.

Perfect on a leash. Loose leash heel, perfect. But, given some possible trauma pre me, got him a 1yo 120#, great on leash, loose. Like duct taping a stick of dynamite to your hand in a firestorm for a walk.
A spark may hit the fuse. One spark for sure is another dog barking at him. Learned he is clearly not a fan of that. Nor am I. Gets along fine with dogs besides that.

Jerry, Bear has some real canine instincts going on there. He is a lovely dog. I bet it’s quite a bit cooler under there. Amazing that they know that instinctively.
Hope it gets better for you.

Thanks Mark. Hope you, yours and the pack are well.
Broke my dominant right paw radius bone clean through 6 weeks ago. Sucked but could be worse. PT 6 weeks now.

Anyway, Bear is really a sweet dog. He is a bit perturbed that my injury has interrupted his routine, but so am I. Is what it is Brother.

Take care. Jerry.

Love pet pictures and stories.
As older parents I think Miss Lori and I have more pictures of the 4 legged kids than the two legged version.
Piper the female with the bears blanket is the social one and she thinks she is a Jedi knight.
Red is the old soul dog that hates too ride in the car. Only place we drive them is to the vet and grooming.
They definitely become part of the family.

What beautiful dogs Steve. Love the playfulness they are showing.

TopDog, it’s funny how dogs become attached to stuffed animals. My golden’s are just like that. Nice looking dog.

Thank you all for the compliments our four legged friends. Amazing how people act for them Miss Lori and I were walking them couple summers ago in town. Gentlemen in a F150-250, stops lets us cross and then laughs and says it’s he did it for the dogs. We are okay with that.

Dyed red and green they make nifty little Xmas snacks. probably try makin some mini deviled eggs too. hard to peel the little suckers so I put em white vinegar over nite, walla!. no shells in the morning.

The quail are unique pets. Deviled eggs are always good. I only have one stipulation you have to use real mayonnaise not miracle whip. Pets are definitely good for the soul.

There's a Vietnamese soup with quail eggs that I love. Something like Hủ Tiếu Mì.

I love this thread. Animals, no matter species or breed are admired, loved, sometimes dangerous. Always respected regardless IMO.
My phone took a dump. Still trying to recover pics.
But Mr. Bear now 2.5 year old. Got him at 1 yo.
Favorite toy. Blue kiddie pool. No water. In/ out. Naps. Bashing with his cantaloupe size tennis ball on a rope. Medieval mace comes to mind. I think 150# now. Last weight at Vet was 142# months back. Gentle beast. Solid muscle. Tank. Appears the breed is called a giant dog for a reason.
Saint Bernard/ Great Pyrenees mix. Recognized breed as I am told. Called Saint Pyrenees or Great Bernard. Picture do no justice to his size. Huge! Head like a basketball.

My good friend.

Mr Bear looks like he can handle himself in just about any situation Jerry. I have a void in my life right now that another dog could easily fill but my wife says “I’m not ready” ::shrug:: and she sucks at frisbee…….

Hey Tom. Long time. Sorry for your loss and void. Hope the wife changes her mind soon. Maybe take her on a surprise pup shopping trip. Or better yet, a drive to the pound.
My county's pound has exterior pens with doggie doors to interior pens. The place is packed on the weekend with people like a puppy viewing drive through.
Hope your void is soon filled.

Man's Best Friend!

Ogden Nash 1941'...

"The dog is man's best friend. He has a tail on one end. Up in front he has teeth. And four legs underneath".

Take care Brother!

Hey Mark. Thanks for the kind compliment. He is a beauty. Handsome dog. Funny but he is kind of a rockstar in town. If he is not with me, first words out of someone's mouth is "Where's Bear?" Well hello to you too is my first thought.
I have to get some updated pics of Elsa as well. She is 4 now. Beautiful, sweetheart. Most easy going, low maintenance dog I ever met.
Hope you, yours and your pack are well.

Take care. Jerry
