I like the slim shape of the western states and your k bars master blade .I think western states call them a California clip.perfect for skinning small game like a squirrel or rabbit .that bright yellow of the k bar would be easy to keep up with when laid down on a Forrest floor after the leaves have fell ! The western boulder Colorado knife I’m posting pitchers of I got back in 1982 dropping knifes with an older gentleman that use to own a gas station .he would pump your gas , check the oil , wash your windshield every time you done business with him .some times he would lay a real stinker on ya .some times a decent enough one.lol this was my first introduction to the western brand .It has skinned a truck load of. squirrels.Ridgegrass wrote: ↑Thu Jun 22, 2023 8:36 pm Thomasg: Bird's eye bolsters on a stockman? The first knife was the wrong knife for the post .lol I edited out the pretty one and put in a well used one I have had for 40 odd years. .I put the boulder knife back on this post . I like acquiring the w.s.and boulder knifes because as I told a friend one time .everyone has a drawer full of those old case knifes ! Lol I also like the pal knifes .some nice bone one this one .thank you for your reply.

Re: Stockman Knives
I have several celluloid knifes.I keep them separated from my bone knifes and a watchful eye on them .I bought this stockman along with the other 5 golden ruby colored knifes that completed the series .the knifes are case /frost collaboration made with Corelon scales .Maybe collectors years down the road will be talking about them being out gassing devils !Sharpnshinyknives wrote: ↑Thu May 18, 2023 12:54 am Beautiful chickenman. I like the color of that celluloid. I don’t have any celluloid because of the potential for off gassing but I sure like to look at others’ knives who aren’t afraid to have it.

I really like the Corelon. Makes some beautiful handles. I have several. Don’t think there’s any concern about future problems like we may have with celluloid.

Re: Stockman Knives
Those are beautiful old stockman’s Iman. Love the amber worm groove bone handles on the top one.
I’ve picked up a few more Hen and Rooster cattle rustler stockmans with steers head shield. Sold the stag one in under 24 hours and sold this red one in about 12 hours. I have this new patriotic Corelon swirl with the steer head shield. Haven’t listed it yet, it will probably sell quickly too.
I’ve noticed that there are 2 versions of these with steer heads shields, a regular stockman and another version that is a smaller version with slanted bolster. Both worth collecting.

Mark, no surprise to me that your stockmans sold quickly. If their production quality matches their looks then they are very fine indeed.

Re: Stockman Knives
Thank you Rob, Garry and Tim. Yes Garry these are well built. Not sure when these were made but my guess is the 90’s, much better than the quality that Hen and Rooster is putting out today.

Thanks a lot bud, appreciate it. You and me both on the worm groove. Nice knives you just posted. Never heard of them but if they were made in Solingen, probably speaks for itself. Nice pair.

That's a good looker, I like the Schrade Delrin. Great color and classic old school look that I like. Nice one.
