Nothing as classic as you folks, I have elevated my Victorinox Alox Army 1 (Solo) to my favorite EDC. This little knife does all I need and so far is holding its edge very well, haven't even had to strop in in three weeks.

Happy Thanksgiving. Our Thanksgiving meal was outside today picnic style so my wife's mother could join us. I had this Case Bose Wilfred collaboration knife with me and used some Oklahoma flagstone as a backdrop.

Thanksgiving carry:

Since the Madre De Toilet Seat gave up the ghost on my old formal knife, a Buck Creek Jumbo Stockman (which was my great-uncle's) decided to outgas,I've now got a naked knife with no handle scales (need to get it rehandled). Thus, I had to choose a new dress knife. And then I said "What the hey, just carry all three!". One of the few times in a year I go for more than just a Spyderco Dragonfly around the house.

Case 6265 Folding Hunter; likely 1965-1969 era. This was my great uncle's favorite deer hunting knife (he, unfortunately, passed away 5 years ago). I try to use it lightly, but the 6265 is such a capable, sleek, and easily carried knife, despite being so big. Ergonomics are quite good as well. I had the luck of finding a period-correct sheath for a really good price and in really good condition. Unlike the current sheath, it actually fits the knife it's supposed to go properly--not too tight, not too loosely. I don't know how I ended up inheriting the biggest Case folder he owned, and definitely such a nice knife. The ones I remember him carrying were Stockmen and Jacks, and that's what most other relatives chose. I got what was leftover. He especially liked carrying a stag 18 pattern Stockman. I also inherited his '74-80 Buck 110, and that started an addiction with Bucks. I really want to find a nice old stag version, but that's gonna take a lot of saving up for. This one is Pakkawood, and with the lanyard hole (normally, I carry it with a boot lace tied to the lanyard hole, which is then looped around my belt, but that looked bad for formal carry).

Moore Maker 5213UDLB Double Lockback Trapper in smooth white bone. I picked it up affordably (just under $40) as a factory second (crack in pile side handle). It looks good, but is built like a tank and is a good working knife as well. Since I'm buying more and more MMs as of late (predominately Delrin), this is now a mostly dress carry.

EKA Sweden Gentleman's Knife. The price was cheap, and what really drew me to it were the Viking dragon vines, which EKA used a lot on these models. It's an advertiser for Flygt pumps. I've mostly kept it for use as a dress knife, which it does well, and has the tools for light EDC stuff. I am gonna have a real leather slip made--the factory pleather one works, but is UGLEE!

Boker 495 (I don't know if this is German or American-made, but am presuming American; as German-made ones had an etch, this one had no evidence of an etch ever being on it) One Arm Razor Barlow. I was given this knife three years ago by a very good friend. He'd given me a few other knives, mostly ones Pittston had given him working over the years. The Boker, on the other hand, was not a Klein workhorse folder. For a long time, it was the only good Barlow I could carry (had my great-Granddad's Queen #22, but never carried it). I've largely retired it due to sentimental reasons, but it comes out every now and then. I prefer USA-made Imperial shell-handle Barlows for work, since they're peanuts if I lose one, and I have two right now.

And well, the tool stuff. None of these really have sentimental value, so not much behind them. Got the LM Wave for $30 at my local Lowe's when Leatherman replaced the Wave with the Wave+. I like that unlike the 1998-2004 design Wave, I can carry this design with a pocket clip that is sold as an accessory. But, I hate the bit driver and flimsier scissors. And the quality of this 2017 dated tool is worse than the older Wave I have from 1998. The Pocket Wrench II was made in the 1990s by a company called Latshaw Tool. This is an older tool steel variant. I've used the heck out of it, and it's taken the abuse (and I bought it secondhand, and paid about $20 for it; as they're rare in tool steel--most are 420HC stainless). The Olight i1R2 I got when I ordered a few other Olight flashlights and was free with purchases over $50. I have a black i1R on my keys; and it's been a good light for over 2 years. The i1R2 has more runtime, and is brighter, but I've not used it much at all. I'm saving it for the case I lose the i1R or it breaks. But, I prefer Maglites. Made here in the USA, not by the Communist Chinese in China. They're tougher, and they have reasonable outputs for the size of light. I don't understand the hype about htis brand. I think most Olight are poorly designed, with too much focus put on output, while there is complete ignorance to things like heat dissipation. But, I like the small, cheap lights--such as the i3EOS and i1R. I have one Olight, the S1R Baton II that is 500 lumen, but it will get so hot, it has burned my hands. Never had a LED Mag that even offered so much as to get warm. I have the AAA Mini Maglite LED and the Maglite Solitaire LED. Eventually getting the AA Mini Maglite PRO to replace the Olights. Also doing some LED conversions to some old Fultons.
