Nice group, Smitty, nice Robeson strawberry and nice yellow Camillus. I have never owned a J C Higgins knife, had an old single shot shotgun with the Higgins name, still have now that I think about it. It is great that you have that hand me down from your grandaddy!Papa Bones wrote: ↑Tue Aug 22, 2023 8:05 pm Received these yesterday from my local Postal Rider. Fished these out of the bay. Another Robeson ShurEdge 512224. I couldn't help it, look at da bones.Another Camillus Double Line Tang Stamp Yellow handle 72Y Yellow Jacket. I know....I know, but they're like potato chips, gotta have a bunch.
And Lastly, just because I thought it would go good with my J.C. Higgens double barrel 16ga that my Granddaddy gave me, a J.C. Higgins tang stamp 1967479 fixed blade. Not the original sheath, and needs just a little cleaning on the blade.

I watched that JC Higgins, to match with my JC Higgins .22 rifle, but I did not bid on it. Some fantastic pick-ups, Smitty. I'm not typically drawn to Barlows, but I'd make an exception for those wonderful red bones. The J.C. Higgins fixed blade will make a great carrier. And you gotta love a 72!
A real beauty!

The JC Higgins looks a lot like a Western (66?)Papa Bones wrote: ↑Tue Aug 22, 2023 8:05 pm Received these yesterday from my local Postal Rider. Fished these out of the bay. I like 'em all but the Robeson ShurEdge 512224 is the winner for me of the group... how sweet it is!!!!

Thanks TopDog. With the tang stamp it has, and the pattern number on the pile side, it puts it sometime between 1940 to 1964. I figured in the shape it is, could be early 60's possibly late 50's. In 1965 they started putting the Pattern number on the front or mark side.

I have one that looks very much like yours, blade profile, I would say size wise as well ... but with no markings. I posted it in a Barlow thread quite a while back. Bone scales very similar... I'll to see where the photos are... The good Lord only knows where the knife is

Wow, looks like you've got a busy day ahead, Scott!
With all that hardware you're gonna need a belt as well as suspenders, or you're gonna be pullin' your strides up all day!
Great line-up, sir!

Nice haul Scott. Even got a couple of Vic's in the deal. Those Swiss cards are pretty neat , and the Victorinox sawblades work awesome.

My Postal Rider dropped these in my box today. Ordered from Shepherd Hills, Both In the Peach Seed Mahogany Bone. 2023 Case XX 6207 Mini Trapper, and 61749L Mini CopperLock. Both are nice, but I really like how the handles of the Mini Copperlock turned out.

Two beautiful mini's, Smitty, and I agree, the covers on the bottom knife are spectacular!
Looks like another day of belt and suspenders, Scott!
You must be a busy guy toting all that hardware with you, but you certainly are equipped for anything!
