Excellent pick-, Ray and Jim! ::tu:: I'm thinking I should try out a cotton sampler and hunt a little more actively for one of those electrician's knives.

Yesterday I received 3 knives from 3 different sellers in 3 different states, Iowa, New York and Massachusetts, all from the shallow end of the bay and each knife has not been on a whet rock. There is a small Utica 2 5/8" 2 blade, a Pal 3" equal end 2 blade and an Imperial E/O with the '36-'52 stamp (steel liners and bolsters). I have no idea about the age of the Utica but the other 2 are at least 70 years old. To say the least, I'm very surprised their condition, especially for the prices. :)

Thanks fellers for the kind words, I'd never seen one either, Gilbert's ebay site said it was new old stock. ::shrug:: I wasn't sure it was a automatic just said it was assisted opening.
I really like using one hand opening knives around the ole homestead. ::handshake::

bighomer, your last paragraph is quite true, onehanded opening is a real help at times, maybe on any job.

found this little thing today at an antique shop. Not much else but pure junk. I think its a Landers ferry & Clark. etchings are Universal LF&C. But other than a mini Bowie, 3" blade, 6" total real mop handles. what would you call it?? Its not very sharp and doesnt appear to have ever been any sharper. top is swedged about 75% from point back.

I would guess maybe a cake knife (like for a wedding cake cutting ceremony). ::shrug::

Wouldn't want it to be too sharp in case the groom takes offense at having cake smashed in his face by the bride and decides to "retaliate" ::paranoid::

An Al Mar "Gameskeeper" mid-lockback that's 8 1/2" oal, features a dagger blade, black micarta covers, and has SS and NS hardware!
I'm even leavin' the swinguards on!

Picked up this used 5292 Centennial Stag Jack fairly reasonably priced even considering the amount of user damage. I’ll be spending some time cleaning up what I can but this will definitely continue to be a user.
