Marco, this knife was made by Kizlar a Russian manufacturer who claim their knives are handmade. It appears that they make far more fixed blaces than folders. In any event I like this knife a lot. The F&F are very good. I like the firm half stops. The steel is AUS 8 which is a steel I can rely on when it is properly heat-treated, such as by Cold Steel.
I have used this for about 7 years. Very easy to sharpen. Maybe Kizlar has American distributors by now. I had to order it from Australia.

Thanks for the info Garry! ::handshake:: Wow, in the OP the scales appear to be bright white, but in your 2nd pic they appear creamy yellow, at least on my PC that's how they look. Looks to be a well made knife, and if you've enjoyed it for 7 yrs. that pretty much proves it. ::nod:: I recently received a handmade Russian folder that came from Russia and I believe it's also a Kizlar, although I can't recall for sure, and it's completely unmarked except for the steel grade 95x18 etched on the blade. It's a linerlock and displays all SS hardware but for the brass pins, and beautiful Walnut scales. Like yours, this one's F&F is 1st.-rate. It was a more expensive piece, yet not priced so high as to put it out-of-reach. Seems the Russians know what they're doing when it comes to knives. Thx again! 8)

Marco, The brighter white of the bone has gradually been lost over time due to picking up the oils from my hands, pocket grime, and exposure to different environments.

Your Ruski looks good.

Thanks Q Steel. Believe the W. Bingham Co. had hardware made under their name sometime starting in 1841 and went out of business in 1961. Was resurrected in the seventies and later finally closing for good in 2004 but this one was probably from the 1930s or 40s. Don't know if they had pocket knives made after the 1970s iteration.

Toomanyknives, again that one is incredible. Wow.

Tote'n these today, got war story about that ole Camillus barlow, probably happened in the early '90's. I was doing a little housekeeping with a fire hose around the boilers and I look down through the grating onto an I- beam on the floor below and thought l saw a pocket knife. Sure enough it was, someone years before had probably been cutting, scraping or something of the like and laid their knife down. It was rusted shut of course. I put it in the tool washing tub and let it soak for a while and much to my surprise with a pair of pliers got the blades to open. Now brother the blades were beyond rusted and pitted. What to do? Well I decided it wasn't much use like it was so I taped the handles with some industrial grade tape and went to the bead blaster and now I have thin blade knife that is scary sharp.

Great story, good work getting that baby back to life. Pretty good for being rusted shut. Bet that guy is still wondering where he left it.
