Rocky, I didn't realize the R7500 whittler was a split backspring pattern - thanks for showing! The Bulldog pattern has 2 backsprings for 1 blade to further emphasize how the size and ruggedness of the blade.

Mason another nice showing with the R1863 - it is very pretty. My favorite Remington catalog is the C-30. In addition to knives it also has advertisements, firearms, and more.

Scoutknives it is great to be able to learn something with the Boy Scout fixed blade. Yours is the first Remington fixed blade that I have seen with a blade etch. Very nice.

Not sure exactly on the size will have to measure it but as for the year it's marked DuPont so that would put it 1934-39 era .

Scoutknives it is great to be able to learn something with the Boy Scout fixed blade. Yours is the first Remington fixed blade that I have seen with a blade etch. Very nice.

All Remington official boy and Girl Scout knives were etched from the factory..... Finding them with the etch can be a chore

Mike,(sk) love, love, love the RH204!!!! I have never seen one with a B.S.A. etch... plus the quality and clarity of the knife and etching all in all is a beautiful example and I am quite taken by the uniqueness of it. Great collection piece.

Mason again you have shown a great looking knife, the E.E.Jack R1863. A very nice example and a Great piece to have. I love to see the original production knives with the etch still intact and your knife looks to have pretty much full blades. Love the bone as always. Thanks for the look see.

Jerry, still slobbering over your Bulldog... I know that has to be a sweet knife to hold in the hands. I really do love a knife that has weight and substance to it and yours fits the bill.

Mason, great looking fixed blade. If I am not mistaken... and I could be, Camillus had the go ahead and commission to use the Remington trademark in making and reproducing Remington knives until they closed in 2007.At present I think it's Bear and Son's cutlery.

I know that Bear & Sons had a 5 year license contract with the Boy Scouts of America starting in 2009 to create replicas of 5 different Remington models (http://162.242.230.74/pages/news-and-re ... knife.aspx)

They only made 4 of the models because they never received a purchase order from the BSA for the final year.

I do know Camillus made at least three editions of a Remington R-14 (Camillus 72 clone) and I know (as does everyone else) Bear & Son made the Scout series.

The R14-W is probably the Camillus #5 - (made '99-'03) difference being the #5 had brass bolsters

Hi ya Jerryd!! Ya found the Honey pot for Remington lovers! Those are very nice Jerry, I knew you'd have that pattern if nothing else. Very, very nice collection! Been hangin' out here for a few months post a few from the collection, if you didn't know Remington knives are my passion and the fellers have some real beauties. Great group of collectors and a great place to share and gain knowledge. Stop by more often it's a pretty active thread!

Repeating...you are right Mike, msteele6 has some incredible knives, Like you and some others I am sure we would love to see the details of those knives.

Tom, Thanks for confirming who produced the BSA knives. Some of those scouts one can see often on the bay but some I think are more rare and harder to come across... I have heard the quality of those patterns can be in question.What do you think?

Yes Rocky, there has been a ton written about fit and finish of these knives both here on AAPK and elsewhere. I think to have an expectation that a 2009 replica would be close to the 1924 original is a bit high - it's a replica not a duplicate. I will say that Ken Griffey from Bear and Son has been very accommodating to individual requests for fit and finish repairs.

Thanks all for your comments and information regarding the fixed blade knife from 1996. I had read that Camillus had made knives for Remington from 1982 to 1990, and had contracted to Bear and Sons from 2006 onward. But there seems to be a bit of a mystery from 1990 to 2006 as to who made knives for Remington.

Here is an odd one for the Remington forum .
Official Girl Scout knife in genuine Pearl , it was either a lunch box special or a special order but either way it's a cool piece , came with the original box . Light GS etch on the master and no pattern number .

ScoutKnives that is a beautiful Pearl girl scout knife. Looks like it has hardly ever been out of the box.

Here is a R4013 small Texas Jack with a lot of carbon patina on mostly full blades. Thanks for looking.

Great old knife!

Stewart and Ritchie show this knife with the round bolsters, just goes to show that you can't treat ONE catalog cut as gospel on a knife and that manufacturers were free to make changes and often did. By the way, Stewart and Ritchie show the 4015 with the square bolsters.
