I was vacillating back and forth about buying one because while I like the Wharncliffe blade and the Jade G-10 handle, it's bigger than my preferred size and not exactly a pattern I collect (also, it's made in China...which I generally try to avoid buying knives from as much as possible). But after seeing the ones Ivoryman got and reading his reviews, I decided to take a leap of faith and grab one for myself before they were all gone. Glad I did, too, it's an excellent knife and I am very happy with it. :D

Ahhhhhhhhhh, congrats. I LOVE the semi-translucent look of that green jade. Beautiful hue to me. This is one of the best colors of green out there to me, and the way light gets in there is very cool. Also love the curves, great curves, sexy curves and yeah, it's big, but I love them. I'm really taken with them and hope you like that addition. I think it looks great and love the action of the flip and lock up. Also that pocket clip blows most every other pocket clip away in my book. LOVE that clip. Congrats, hope you keep liking it. If you didn't and wanted your money back I'd help you out. I will definitely keep them and use them for gifts if nothing else, that is the ones I don't keep. I will keep most of them, quite taken with the knife. Congrats again, real looker there. Mahalo.

Jerry, congrats, really like that micarta and the etch and Jeffinn does such great jobs I just like seeing others of his work. Congrats.

Gdogg, what a cool wife. Congrats, that must be a sweetie and you must be getting about retirement age eh? Congrats if you are and enjoy the respite. Great score.

You too jmh, like the color and looks like a beast.

Congrats all, great page of scores.

Got these two as a lot for $14. They're pretty early Japanese-made Kershaw models--guessing late '70s, early '80s.

They are superbly built--smooth action, great snap, flawless fit and finish. They sharpen up to scary sharp also.

2160 Lil' Deschutes.

I noticed the Lil' Deschutes has the Kai logo in its modern uppercase typefont, while the Good Buddy has it in lowercase letters "kai"--so, is one older than the other?

I unexpectedly fished this Kershaw Gadsden out of the 'bay with a low bid. Sometimes I place low bids on certain knives just to track them, and sometimes I win with those bids when I don't really mean to!
Anyway, this is nicer than I expected. I typically prefer natural handle materials, but the G10 looks and feels good in hand. It has good fit and finish, and the blades are centered and sharp, with decent snap.
I was surprised to find that these are made in China (I had thought that they were made in Japan), but they are definitely up to Kershaw's high standards.
I met my wife when I moved to the city of Gadsden, AL, so I already feel a 'connection' to this knife.

Thank you Steel, I’m proud of that one, well most of the ones I got from Roland are over the top.

Nice one!

Currently, they're SMKW exclusives, but Kershaw does offer the Gadsden in a honey-color jigged bone and copper bolsters.

Interestingly enough, it seems that traditional slipjoints are gaining more traction with the less-expensive "big box" brands of tactical folders--CRKT recently released the Venandi (Bullet Trapper) and Triple Play (a bartender-style knife); Kershaw has apparently sold enough of their traditional line to be offering more handle choices, and now Cold Steel (whose knives actually appear to be Rough Ryders with 8Cr13MOV instead of 440A).

Awesome color!

The Swiss Bianco exclusives were certainly some of the better exclusive SAKs that were done.

It's in really good shape! Are the handles tortiseshell or tortiseshell pattern cell?

I have a friend who is named "J. Thompson" and have been meaning on picking up one from that brand for quite some time now--ever since I learned the brand existed 4-5 years ago.

I think it’s true shell, I will need to research it more, I just took it from the box of 1 of 24, and he threw it in and I didn’t know it was going to be in the box. I purchased from another member. But I will find out, I too am curious
