My cousin never learned the recipe for ice, She was made for an icemaker!
We used them aluminum ones but then plastic cube makers saw a lot of use too.

I haven't had an aluminum ice cube tray since the plastic ones came out.

Anyone ever seen one like this. I hadn't.

Ever get the tips of your fingers frozen stuck to the bottom of an aluminum ice cube tray and have to run warm water on them to get them loose?

Yep, been there, done that ! And, if you panic and yank your hand away you just might leave a little hide behind.

Having an automatic ice maker is nice. But I kinda miss the old way...

Yes, I have done that. Also, my older brother, when I was little, made me stick my tongue on a monkey bar rung when it was cold out. Just like that scene in Christmas Story, except they didn't call the FD.

I don't think I ever forgave him for that...

The water supply line to our ice maker leaks, inside the freezer, but behind the rear panel, freezing all over the coils.

I shut off the water supply and turned off the ice maker, after clearing the big chunk of ice from the coils.

I bought eight plastic ice trays that make little 3/8" x 3/8" x 3/8" cubes.

I empty and refill them every morning, usually staying ahead of our needs for ice.

And my fingers, if moist, will stick to the plastic trays, too.

Here is a pic of a bunch of sharp pointy things found in the soil of the Savannah River Valley area of South Carolina and Georgia.

Nice bunch of points, Blue! That used to be one of my passions, huntin' points and pottery shards. Some of the fields we used to row crop were quite productive when it came to flint, chert and pottery shards. Haven't actively hunted them for years but I found one last year in a bare place behind the church fellowship hall. Just got out of the car and looked down and there it was !

Sometimes I'm amazed at the vast quantity of arrow and spear heads and other stone artifacts that have been collected by modern man.

I knew a collector/authority here that had huge displays of beautiful points, plus many, many cigar boxes filled with lesser pieces and that can be multiplied many times over by the great numbers of collectors that have sought these over the years.

There is no telling how many millions exist in private and public collections. There is no telling how many more are still out there, yet undiscovered.

I know they are stone, they just don't deteriorate, unless broken or crushed.

I know also, that there is some flintknappery faking going on, but I suspect the vast majority are genuine. There's too much money in the hobby/pursuit for fakers not to be involved, though.

I know I would never pay for one, I don't know anything about them. I do have one or two I found when I was young.

I don't know what the population numbers of Native Americans might have amounted to over the centuries of their existence and the periods of time stone implements were in use, but they created a great multitude of these type items, did they not?

My friend stated he found the majority of his points by searching freshly plowed farmland in Tennessee and the best time to search was to wait 'til after a rain. Plow, rain, search. Worked for him.

Yep, fresh plowed fields after a good rain is indeed the best time to look. A shame no one around here plows anymore, all no till garbage spraying cancer juice all over the fields

Had a pretty good thunderstorm here late this afternoon, poured about 1-1/2 inches on us in an hour. After it passed this showed up. Guess I shoulda gone over there and looked for the pot of gold?

The azaleas are gone here in Georgia but here is a bush that blooms every summer. I believe it is called a hyacinth but I could be wrong so please feel free to correct me. Pretty what ever it is

Here is a tree in my yard I have always wondered about. It has a pear shaped fruit that falls in October. The squirrels love them and bury them every where . They are very hard and sour. Anybody know what this is?

Greg its maybe a Quince tree. Peal them and cut into small pieces and then put salt on them. Really good
