A Benchmade 3551 Stimulus auto, 7" oal, 154CM blade, BO/BC, coil-spring activated, and aluminum body. Cool and solid little knife! 8)WIN_20220310_10_46_49_Pro.jpgWIN_20220310_10_46_09_Pro.jpg
Very nice Benchmade Marc. They are solid built knives. ::tu::

Some beauties "Q". And yeah..... that's the same excuse I use. "They just followed me home!" ::super_happy::

cody6268 wrote: Fri Mar 11, 2022 9:02 pm These three came in the mail today.

Sears Craftsman (Schrade) 9561. The seller showed it as being a worn, EDC-condition knife. It is somewhat (looks like it was carried for a few months, and put back into the box without cleaning), but the seller neglected to show it had the box and belt clip as well.

Valor Japan 164-A Electrician's knife. Used and carried. But, amazing wood for a "cheap" 1960s era knife.

The Wostenholm British Army Knife is worn out with an incredibly loose main blade, but it likely has some stories to tell. It is dated 1940, which means it likely saw action in WWII. I suspect the original owner of these knives did as well.

The Valor may be used a bit, but the rest are to go straight into the collection.
Some nice ones Cody!! ::tu:: ::tu::

I fished these two out of the Bay and they finally showed up yesterday. The first is a Craftsman 3-1/2" Stock Knife as listed in the Sears Catalogs. It has the Long Tail letter "C" that underlines the word Craftsman, on the shield, and blade etch on the master clip blade with "Forged Steel" underneath Craftsman and the model number to the right. It has black composite handles, all blades have great snap, no wobble and still have the original luster. It is equipped with a master clip blade, meduim spey secondary blade, and a pen blade. With this style blade etch and shield, i believe this is from approximately 1950-1956. Around 1957 is when the Craftsman logo changed to the block letters on the etch and shield without the underline.

The second one is a Craftsman 9472 3-1/4" Stock Knife which has the brown composite handles, and oval Craftsman Shield with the block letters without underline. Produced from approximately 1957 to around 1963. It has the Craftsman U.S.A. tang stamp on the master clip blade without the model number. It has a master clip blade , small spey secondary and small pen blade. All blades are tight with great snap, but do have some scratches, dark spots and spyders, and the shield does have a small dent. It is missing the blade etch.

Man, you sure know your knives Smitty! Your very in depth descriptions and attention to the details makes your posts quite interesting and informative! When I look at a knife I see total length, cover material, and means of operation, and when you see a knife you see what year, who made it, the lettering on the shield and tang, and distinct pattern among other things. I guess it would be boring if we all saw the exact same thing. Those are 2 very nice knives that look to be in excellent condition, congratulations and enjoy them! 8)

Thanks Marc, appreciate it. It really gets frustrating at times to pin down dates for Craftsman knives because mostly there is very little written about them, and you have to go through Old Sears Catalogs or Sporting goods & Sportsmans Magazines to find years and good photos of the tang stamps, composition of handles as well as shields and blade etches. So, I spend a lot of time trying to find these old catalogs, on line as well as old magazines sports magazines, and reading through them. I am no expert by any means, but have slowly narrowed some points down.
