I've been resisting a long time and so far still holdin' out . I'm right there with you on the blue steel and walnut and for years I was a blue steel wheel gun only but look at me now, carryin' some polymer framed olive brown/green lookin' thing .
One of my friends got a "Mattel Toy" in 300 Blackout that seems pretty interesting.

It has an ajustable stock, a shorter barrel, and the barrel and receiver are coated robin egg blue. It's the neatest looking little rifle you ever saw. And that girl is tickled to death with it.

The 300 AAC Blackout is a really cool round. With a heavy bullet weight of 220grs, it is sub-sonic. Guys that have silencer privileges, can use the sub-sonic load and it is amazingly quiet and yes, is probably a solid 100yd load, with the right bullet construction.

Alternatively, there are 125gr and 130gr loads that have a MV of about 2100 - 2200 fps and are lethal much farther out, 250yds would be a safe bet.

5.56 NATO on the chambering. It is a hand lapped, CMV, Match barrel, that is setup for the heavier for caliber bullets with 1:7" twist. Match trigger, NiB bolt carrier group, etc. I've been shooting 77gr - 80gr bullet weights and it is super accurate. The only downside to the rifle?? It weighs 9+ pounds. But... I built it for accuracy, not lugging around for endless miles.

..........9+ pounds????.......same as my original .44-40 HENRY!!!......wait till you try to tote it around when you are nearly 80!!............ ........................

How does the Gaskill holster work? I'm not following the wire/frame ?

Hi Phillip,
the wire frame is moveable at the top of the holster. You can push the wires in at the top and they will spring back out.
To use the holster you collapse the springs (easily done) and slide the holster in your back pocket. The wire will spring out and make it difficult for the holster to come out of your pocket therefor allowing you to draw the pistol by itself.
My understanding is that back in the early days of the 20th century and beyond it was common for men to carry a gun in their back pocket.
And why not a nice little Colt 32 auto pocket pistol.

This is unlikely to apply to any of you. But you might have friends or young folk who need to be alertred.

Form 4473 is signed whenever a firearm is purchased from an FFL dealer. A new form from the ATF went into effect on Jan. 16. Because some states have okayed the use of marijuana, ATF addressed the issue. Under Federal law it is unlawful to use marijuana NO MATTER WHAT STATE LAWS SAY.

If the buyer admits on the form any use of marijuana the dealer cannot lawfully sell a gun to that person. If a false answer is given i.e. "I don't use marijuana." when the truth is otherwise, then a felony has been committed. The pernalites are significant according to a prosecuter wo has numerous successful convictions for people who lied on the form. This was before the new marijuana twist.

Finding out the "Gaskill" is for "Pocket Carry" is easily understood. I was baffled to start with trying to figure it out as IWB carry.

Excellent info Garry! I've been wondering how they were going to deal with this and the liberal states.... and I like it! I for darn sure, don't want any pot heads all doped up, doing stupid stuff with a lethal weapon.

I would really like to see when the users try to buy a gun in, say, Colorado. Will the FFL holder point out the issues? Or just be quiet and hope to make the sale. Of course the FFL dealer is subject to losing his business if he doesn't play it straight.

See, this is the clash of Federal law vs State law that I've been curious about, since some States have allowed recreational use of marijuana. The Federal required forms, for firearms purchase, are just one aspect of it. If you're clean and a non-user, it's a non-issue. Federal law trumps State law.

On an interesting side note, those legal Colorado marijuana businesses that are raking in millions of $'s cannot use bank accounts due to Federal banking regulations prohibiting it. Which pretty much forces them into carrying around huge amounts of cash. So, the potheads need guns but can't legally purchase or use them. Catch-22

Along those lines, NV Voters faced two statewide ballot questions 1 and 2 in November. # 2 was recreational marijuana. The majority of NV Residents live in Clark County, basically Las Vegas. Seems we have lots of liberals down there, including the Sheriff.
Out of 17 County Sheriffs, he was the only one that supported Question 1. Under the cover of closing the private sale "Gun Show Loophole". Passed by only 9000 votes mostly due to the sheer number of libs in Vegas area.
Hidden in the initiative is also unlawful have anyone else possess one of my gun. Like letting my son borrow a hunting rifle, storing a firearm at his house, gifting him a gun etc.

Oh, guess who was backing the initiative to the tune of 20 million. None other than Michael Bloomberg. That right, former NYC Mayor.

Hey Bloomberg, last I checked, you live in NY. Leave NV laws to Nevada and pound sand.

A customer I have in NY had a buddy that a was SWAT. He responded to a barricade suspect plainclothes and was killed by a uniformed officer who thought he was a bad guy.
He was thanked for his service by a visit to his widow to confiscate all his guns 2 months after he was laid to rest.
Had she not had a gun permit, they would have taken everything. That's gratitude for service and sacfrice?

Btw, the feds said screw you Bloomberg and Clark County. We won't enforce it. Soon to be repealed. Nice try though and I am sure they will try again.

Correct! I wasn't referring to medical use.

My nephew lives in Colorado and says the pot thing is way out of hand. Especially with respect to driving impaired. By the way, my nephew is licensed CCW and always carries. He's a retired USAF officer, now Sr Exec in a corporation.

Got these two 9mm's, this past week-in, doing a little gun trading --- got to shoot a few times at the range today*** The smaller Glock G43 is for the wife ( if I keep it ) but I can hit the target""fairly well"" with it**, just to small for my paws !! --- The Sig P229R Elite Scorpion, is an ""afternoon delight"" to shoot !! ___ this is my "'FIRST" ever, Sig Sauer and I am impressed** --- de-cocker ( didn't even know what it was,but !!!!!!! ) --- SRT ( short trigger reset ) ,another say whuttt ( makes it an automatic sho-nuff) !!!!!!! and the fit & finish of the frame is AAAAAA++++++ _____ I can even get most shots, in the target too !!!! __ I'm sure you Sig guys know what I have been missing, but I think the hype is justified !!! ---- have a great day guys ,Monk

WOW Monk. Not sure what you traded for that SIG but it mus have been nice. That is a great gun. Congrats. Yes the hype is justified. I venture to say this will soon become your favorite slide gun. Just like some of us have a particular knife manufacturer preference, same applies to guns for some including me. CASE and SIG for me.

Of the 10 SIG slide guns I own (don't own other brands anymore) in various models and calibers, I have 3 different caliber P229 Model in .22, 9mm and .40 cal.

Out if all my SIGs, if I could only have one it would be the P229 in 9mm. Just so well balanced, rapid accurate followup shots and smooth action.

Great pickup. I love those Parinaha G 10 grips. Have those on my P220 10MM. Great feel. Just ordered a pair for my P938.
