Two great knives Garry. The stag is exceptional and Iβm sure that pearl is fiery.

Thanks Mark. Right now I am desperately looking for your other knife which has disappeared among the papers, books, and other detritus in my office.

This little beauty came today.
It's the Buck 055+ or "THE 55"
I haven't collected a lot of Buck knives and I had never seen THE 55 until just the other day.
This will be a very fine Sunday knife for my dress slacks.

1st is a CRKT M16, I've had a smaller version for a couple years. I liked the knife but hated the 2 step locking system. This one is much simpler with just a frame lock.

Next up is a Rough Ryder single blade trapper with red saw cut bone and and a bolster lock which is a first for me.

bolster lock 4.jpgI love the color of your new CRKT, that copper/bronze is outstanding.
So on the bolster-lock, is it the top section of the bolster connected to the liner and then the whole thing shifts over and locks the blade in place when the blade opens?
Never seen that before. Thx!

Two outstanding knives Garry!Quick Steel wrote: βSat Oct 30, 2021 5:25 pm Two NOS Henckels both made after 1975 when Henckels ceased production and subsequently had their knives made by Boker. Interestingly, Henckels stipulated that Boker must use better material and better F&F than either Boker or Henckels had been using. Boker achieved this and the result is that the Henckels/Boker knives are clearly among the highest quality knives Boker has produced. It is my understanding that the Henckels production ended at Boker about 5 or 6 years ago.
This is a premium stag Canoe. Not only is the stag of the highest quality, but the hafting is flawless.

Next is a MOP Copperlock. Unfortunately, my photos do not reveal the superb fire of the pearl which is imbued with silver and pink.

Thank you Marco, but the photo of the MOP is a disaster. On an overcast afternoon I just couldn't get sufficient light to show the fire in the pearl.

Another fantastic pick-up, David. I used to have a bunch of Buck knives, but I never had a "55"...very cool!

Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
One of my best friends gave me an 055 for Christmas back in 2011. I proceeded to break the tip off and had to send it to Buck to get it repaired.
I haven't carried it since.

Oh, that's a shame. Perhaps you would post it again sometime with better lighting so we could see the fire in the MOP, hint, hint!Quick Steel wrote: βSun Oct 31, 2021 1:10 am Thank you Marco, but the photo of the MOP is a disaster. Just got this nice Weidmannsheil Sunfish yesterday. The blades are stiff as a board, crunchy and dry. I spent 20 minutes oiling it and working it and it's smooth and starting to loosen up. I'll work on it a little more this week.
