camillus #72

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

Just picked up this pre 72. It's tang stamp is "Forged in USA", I think it is probably one made by Camillus for Sears. Seller on ebay had a price that I thought was a little high so I made him an offer and he accepted. Thanks for looking. ::handshake::

Not a true split spring but it is 2 springs with a tapered brass wedge between. Thanks. ::nod::

Got a couple of 2nd generation 72's this past week. The black one from knifegnome's store and the 2nd one out of the bay. I sure enjoy these older ones.

...some of you younger guys refresh my failing memory??...just looked at all my '72's.........I've got 3 that have the short underlined Camillus 3line mark(1946-1950)...these are the oldest, right????............. ::cb:: .................
