That is a really nice knife with a unique look, Kris, beats the heck out of unwrapping a pair of socks!
Thanks, it sure does beat socks!

Beautiful Schrades, Paul and a great pair of Camillus, Skip.
I decided to carry this old JKB to Christmas at the in-laws. Cutting zip ties off of the grandkids' toys was not nearly as demanding as work at the Chicago Stockyards, but I think this old boy was glad to be out and active again.

Btw, I have never worked at the Chicago stockyards, the knife maybe, but not me. I reread my post and realized that the wording was a little confusing.

Christmas day carry.

Gerber Magnum LST Jr.
Leatherman PST (1996)
Leatherman Squirt EL (Radio Shack SFO)
Victorinox MiniChamp
Olight i3EOS
Shelby Co. P-51 can opener
Schrade USA 708

The special knife for me was the Gerber Magnum LST Jr. . While not fancy like the Buck Creek I normally carry, and an EDC staple anyway, it was my great-uncle's originally. The OD green version, I think was exclusive to Buckmasters magazine, who gave them out with subscriptions. And besides, a bit more size-appropriate for public use/carry than his other knives (save one, a Boker Congress and TL-29) that I EDC, which is a Case Folding Hunter and a Buck 110, both typically requiring sheaths. My great-aunt lives in a roughly 1000 square foot home in a subdivision after moving from a couple counties over after her husband passed 3-4 years ago. Probably 400 of that is a garage, and her house is full of various fragile decorations, and expensive furniture, so I decided not to have anything on a sheath or clip that would scratch, tear, or otherwise damage her stuff. Used to be, most celebrations (Christmas included) were held at my great-Grandmother's old place, which was in a rural area with a considerable amount of acreage, so I typically brought an outdoor/farm toolset, since hiking and the like was done a lot over there. This time, I decided to bring a town EDC. And being as it was an older home (actually, the oldest in the Burkes Garden area, having been built in the 1830s), stuff was always broken or messed up, so having what was needed is key. Today, I think all I really needed was the light, PST, and Gerber.

In addition to your two sharp knives, I like the closeup clarity of your photos.

I'm not a Barlow fan, but I'd be proud to own that one. Absolutely fantastic handles and those springs! ::tu::

Thank you, Skip. I am a bit partial to the pattern so you can imagine I'm really enjoying it with the custom work.
