You see, I've posted photos of nearly every knife I've collected in the various forums/threads right here on AAPK. It might require a bit of work to search through all my posts over the past 7+ years, but not as much work as it would take for me to get all my knives out for group photos. ::uc::

BTW: This seems like a good time to mention one benefit of posting knife photos on AAPK that I discovered last year when my computer hard drive crashed and I lost all my knife photos from 2019-2020 (for some reason, the photos prior to those years managed to get saved): I was able to go back through all my posts for those two years and retrieve copies of the lost photos that I had posted. Essentially, AAPK served as a photo archive that made retrieving them quite simple and easy. Membership does indeed have its privileges. ::nod::

Thanks for considering our request anyway Q. I knew the long roundabout way to see all your knives, I was just being lazy and shifting the burden onto you, my bad! 8)

Thanks buddy! When I drag my thumb across the horn I can feel resistance, like it wants to stop and stick, so I'd have to say it grips well. Is that a method of determining if the material is horn, or...? 8)
Thanks, never had one, always curious what the texture is like. I like sticky grips that grip well and look great. Best of both worlds. Thanks.

Picked up this one from fellow blade brother Q, can't thank him enough because I liiiiiiiiiiiiiiike the old Winterbottom and have been looking for some for a while. This is great, just love the colors and textures. Groovy, has great grooves. Cool 'ol lock back and thanks again Q.

I received a couple in the mail today. First a 1989 Buck 701. Great snap on all blades, a few scratches on the bolsters but other than that in great shape. Came with the original box and pamphlet.

1989 Buck 701V_b.JPG
Next, an addition to my Schrade Family. A pre-1961 Schrade Walden USA 735 Mariners Knife with Marlin Spike. It has the black composition handles, and had the bail instead of the later produced (1961 and after) thumb lever spike lock. Rope blade tang stamp reads SCHRADE WALDEN U.S.A. on the mark side and 735 on the pile side. The blade has no wobble, has gator snap but does show some wear at the tip. The Marlin Spike has positive opening and great snap. Bolsters do have some small scratches but cleaned up well.

Nice scores!

I've been looking at getting a bit nicer marlinspike, as most of mine are beat-up relics (most being military issue; including a Canadian Wostenholm from WWI; part of a contract in 1917!), too small (like the Captain Currey I have that is just 3 1/8") , or crude (a surplus place I deal with has two Italian British Army clones for $20 a pair, and they're not that well made). Been looking at the Myerchin, but I think I might as well just get a Camillus or Schrade.

Nice one! I get the "old pattern". It does remind me of some old British and German knives from the turn of the century.

PB, you’ll LOVE that 701, I promise you! Great catch ::tu::

Keep us posted on how that Schrade performs for you, I’ve been contemplating seeking one out for my own marlin spike fleet.

Cody, I have a Myerchin WF300 wood handle. It’s a great practical knife with smooth one hand opening on both the blade and the spike. Easy to operate liner locks on both as well. The spike has what I judge to be a very blunt tip and an aggressive taper though. That makes it a little un handy for the small cordage I find myself using for odd jobs in the engine room. Great deck knife though. I think my Case 62146RL is my favorite all around riggers knife.
