Thanks doglegg. And I really like your stockmans David, Trace & Paul. But Chris, I think that's the best two blades for a Jack.

To go along with my GEC 29 today I decided on this S&M heritage ebony stockman and a Maserin Plow.

I have to say that the Maserin Plow is an excellent tool. If you like sod busters it's worth a try. Quality build with a D2 blade and a lanyard hole. And it's cheap enough that if you don't care for it you can give it away.

Being a Sod Buster fan I liked your Maserin so much I went to CK and ordered one for myself. Problem was when I got there they had 12 variations to choose from and it took me a half hour to decide which one I wanted. Even though I liked the Olive Wood a lot I figured I had enough similar handled knives and went with my first inclination and got the Denim blue. Can't wait to get it! :D Thanks for the post or I probably would have never seen it. ::mdm::

I think you'll be pleased. It's been hard for me not to get another but if they were to make one in the size range of a large soddie I wouldn't be able to hold back. Let us know what you think.

I will, looking forward to receiving. I also wanted to get two of them, one being the Olive Wood. Then my better judgement reminded me I have more than my fair share of knives and this Blue Denim would be my alternative GEC Farm & Field for a lot less money. Happy Trails to you. ::tu:: Rich

Nice S&M. I wish there were more ebony stockmans on the market.

I have been carrying this one now, almost everyday, for about 3 weeks. When I first got it I was somewhat timid to put something that old in my pocket. It now ranks, in my opinion, as one of the best overall EDCs ever made.

If you have one give it a try! :D

I would probably be surprised if someone pulled that out as an EDC. A very beautiful old knife. ::nod:: ::nod::
