Ivoryman, that autumn gold knife looks like it is very functional as well as being aesthetically superb!

For Friday I paired an old friend, my 10-dot Case Barlow I call my "Number One," with my newest friend, a fresh out of the tube GEC #29.

Thanks Steve Warden, Doglegg, and BFORSE, definitely useful functional 66 stockman. And yup, carved the hammerhead. Good eye, most people think it's a Pacific Islander fish hook.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
Thanks for the kind words on the ole Barlow, she's sweet, one of those deals where nobody wanted her I reckon. Seller had a minimum bid of $ 9.99, and I had missed on couple of knives that no one bid on so I put in a 10 buck bid and went to bed never figuring I'd win it.
Didn't get back to the bay for a couple of days and lo and behold I got her.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
Thank you Iman, glad you recognize the quality. Who made it? That is always a tough question with Moore Maker because they used (use?) quite a few companies. Because of the exceptionally fine hafting and the time frame I am going to guess it was made by Queen. There is just a chance that it may have been made by Canal Street Cutlery.
I know they have used Bear & Sons on their low priced knives; Utica; Camillus, CSC, Queen. I think there were even a very few made by Boker.

Thanks, I couldn't tell but now you mention Canal Street I could see that too. I have had a couple of theirs and they were very well done. Might have been Boker even? Thanks, interesting. I like trying to figure out who makes knives for who. Reminds me of Cripple Creek and Northwoods really being a GEC or a Queen.

Sunknife, that very pretty rosewood just gave me an idea.
I’d love to have a rosewood knife with wires crossing it to make it look like a miniature fretboard. Throw in the MOP dots too.
I bet our guitar, banjo and uke players would snap that up!
Hmmm, I wonder if it’s out there?

I love that idea Ann!

Maybe I should talk to GEC, Bear & Sons, or Camillus to see if they could come up with a few different patterns...
I have been thinking for quite awhile about fire-in' up my own cutlery company...

Thanks for the compliment and the wish. Right back at you. Great looking pair you have there.
Going with Serpentine style from GEC and Case for the SGTMs kind of thing. My two favorite trad knife companies. 2014 #66 in Ebony, and '40-64 #087 Case in green bone.

Needed something small and sturdy today. Last year's AAPK #14 fit the bill perfectly.

I got 8 extra uses...out of this...from the stuff clinging to the walls. It's hard, solid facts...such as this...that you can use, to let your spouses know...that knives are not really costing us as much as you think
