Nice shot BFORSE, tell me what the icon or symbol on the shield is? Sweet ebony EZ and patina coming along.

That empty shield was just begging for an initial. Unfortunately I never engraved anything before nor had a tool to do so. So I took a very small file, researched the cutting angles of an engraving tool and made my own tool out of that file. I then found an old font style from the late 1800’s and sketched it on the shield with a very sharp pencil. Short story long if you zoom in you might see that it is a stylized “F”.

This is a slightly modified Chinese Marbles. It’s one of my beaters. I modified the lock to be smaller and more comfortable, clipped the point a little more and took the swing guards off so I can choke up on it and put my thumb on the spine.

Thanks for the help. Quite the dressed up F. Must say though, you did a great job for your first, and made the tool itself too. Hmmmmm, talent, ability, ingenuity and execution plus. A+ on that project.
