Kentucky has begun allowing the production of hemp for pharmacutical purposes and for fiber. The production is very tightly controlled thus far. I had the opportunity to visit a small production facility but had to promise the owner I would not reveal the location. Apparently theft has become a common problem.

Gorgeous Martin D28, the older it gets, the sweeter, richer and mellower the tone will get. I have a Martin DM I've owned for around twelve years, and the tone has enriched and mellowed every year. Martins are amazing and worth every penny.

So, Phil, did you not surreptitiously strip one branch of a handful of leaves while walking amongst all that?

Nope.

According to what the guys growing it have told me, the THC content of this strain of hemp is so low you could smoke a wool sack full of it and still never get high. The state sends inspectors around to randomly test the THC content to make sure what's being grown is not going to be usable as smoking material. The reason theft is a problem is that it is so similar to pot that it can be used as a filler or sold as weed to some unsuspecting buyer.

They grew hemp around here during WWII (at least that's the story I heard) and occasionally you'll see some growing along the road at the ends of the fields. They call it "ditch weed" and the stuff won't even give you a headache much less get you stoned.

They grew hemp in Nebraska at some point and when I traveled through there many years ago
you saw it growing at every fence post.

Very cool fergusontd!!! ::tu::

I listed this tin ashtray on ebay a little while ago but decided to keep it for the following reasons:
1). From my home town.
2). Hunting, the outdoors, etc.....reminds me of my dad.
3). My dad smoked.....he may have used this....ya never know.
4). It's vintage - check out that phone #.
5). It's an advertising specialty item and that is what I sell.

So there.....

Can we assume that church is in Arkansas?

Driving through northwest Florida last week we got off the beaten path and came across The Bagdad Assembly of God, The First Baptist Church of Bagdad and The Bagdad Church of Christ, all while making a legal U-Turn.

Actually that church is in Kentucky. There's a little community in Monroe County called Flippin.

Kentucky also has a Bagdad. I once bought a trailer load of registered Charolais cows just outside of Bagdad.

My most sincere apologies Mr. Phil.

"Flippin is an unincorporated community located in Monroe County, Kentucky, United States. It was also known as Johnstonville.

The community was named for the local Flippin family of pioneers."

But you'll notice the town is too small to have a Flippin Police Department.
