Today I purchased this knife for best offer. It is a PASTOR ALEMAN (German Shepherd), single blade pocket knife. This knife "brand" is part of the Imperial Mexico story/connection. It does have the German Shepherd's head profile on the tang. That qualifies it, albeit a stretch, for residency at the zoo. It looks like it's in good condition. When I receive it, I'll give it the once over, take some pictures and post them in the appropriate location(s

This must be a popular pattern around Mexico and South America. I've seen a couple very similar in Costa Rica years ago. Is the blade about 4 or 4.5 inches long? The ones I saw were pretty sturdy.

This morning I acquired this knife for best offer. It is a PASTOR ALEMAN (German Shepherd), 2 blade, 1 tool pocket knife. This PASTOR ALEMAN isn't as much of a stretch as a zoo resident as the other PASTOR ALEMANs were. Besides the German Shepherd's head profile on the tang stamp, there is, what appears to be, a horse on the handle. This knife "brand" is part of the Imperial Mexico story/connection. It appears to be in pretty good condition. When I receive it, I'll give it the once over, take some pictures and post them in the appropriate location(s).

Today, my trip to the post office produced these two knives for residency at the zoo. Yes, both have a profile of a German Shepherd's head on the tang stamp. The first 3 pictures, a PASTOR ALEMAN (German Shepherd), single blade, hawkbill pruner pocket knife. It needed no cleaning. The last 4 pictures, a PASTOR ALEMAN (German Shepherd), single blade, lock back pocket knife. You can barely see it, but it has 007 "etched" on the handle. That was NOT in the seller's description, but I'm not complaining. It measures 5 5/8" closed and 10" with the blade open. It needed no cleaning. I took some pictures and here are the knives.

I like PASTOR ALEMAN, but more for the Mexico connection/history, than for "looks." ::tu:: No, I'm not going to start a "kennel", that would open up a whole new can of "worms." :D

Getting back to basics, I just bought my latest acquisition for the zoo. It's a 2 blade, "longhorn steer head" pocket knife. It's more than likely an Imperial, but I can't be 100% sure from the tang stamp. Physically, it looks like it's in very good condition. Cosmetically, the blades look like they need some cleaning. When it arrives, I'll check it out. Pictures will be taken and posted in the appropriate location(s).

Here is the latest resident of the zoo. It's a stretch to add this knife to the zoo, but by my own criteria, it qualifies. It's a PASTOR ALEMAN (German Shepherd), single blade Cumosa pocket knife. It does have the dog head profile on the stamp. It needed a little cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

Today, this unbranded knife became mine. The country of origin does not matter to me. It is stamped ROSTFREI on the tang (I know what it means). It's a single blade, 4 tools, "deer head" handle, scouting/camping style pocket knife. This will fit in nicely in the zoo. From what I can see, it looks like it's in pretty good condition. When I receive it, I'll check it out. Pictures will be taken and posted in the appropriate location(s).

Here is my other one, already in the zoo.

This evening, this unbranded knife became my latest zoo resident. The country of origin doesn't concern me. It is stamped ROSTFREI on the tang (I know what it means). It's a single blade, 4 tools, "deer head" handle, scouting/camping style pocket knife. It has a different shape than the other one that I posted above this post. But still, this one will fit in nicely in the zoo. Due to the lack of pictures, I can't tell what condition it is actually in. When I receive it, I'll check it out. Pictures will be taken and posted in the appropriate location(s).

I just rounded up my latest acquisition for the zoo. It was grazing at the post office. It's a 2 blade, "longhorn steer head" pocket knife. It is an Imperial. The "before" pictures are a few posts above this one. Only the blades needed some cleaning. I cleaned them, took some pictures and here it is.

Today's addition to the zoo is this PASTOR ALEMAN (German Shepherd), 2 blade, 1 tool pocket knife. This PASTOR ALEMAN isn't as much of a stretch as a zoo resident as the other PASTOR ALEMANs were. Besides the German Shepherd's head profile on the tang stamp, there is, what appears to be, a horse on the handle. This knife "brand" is part of the Imperial and Colonial Mexico story/connection. It needed very little cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

***** EDIT *****
Upon closer examination, the animal on the handle doesn't look like a horse. It has been suggested, in a different forum, that it might be a bull. I really don't know, I think I see a cow, maybe a longhorn steer? ::shrug:: ::dang::

I've added a close-up of the animal. It's the very last picture.

This latest zoo member arrived this morning. It is unbranded except for being stamped ROSTFREI on the tang (I know what it means). It's a single blade, 4 tools, "deer head" handle, scouting/camping style pocket knife. This knife has a different shape than the other similar knife that has been previously posted. It needed a little cleaning, but it is in good condition. I took some pictures and here is the knife.

This afternoon, this knife became the latest zoo acquisition. It's another PASTOR ALEMAN (German Shepherd), 2 blade with bottle opener/cap lifter, pocket knife. It does have the dog head profile on the tang stamp, so it qualifies for zoo residency. This knife "brand" is part of the Imperial and Colonial, Mexico story/connection. It looks like it could use a minor cleaning. I'll check it out when I receive it. Pictures will be taken and posted.

Today, this fixed blade, "deer head(?)" knife, showed up quite unexpectedly. It is most welcomed at my zoo. It was a gift from Ryan, aka Stanwade. I want to thank Ryan for his most generous gift and to assure him that this "deer(?)" will be quite safe here. It measures 4 5/8" long. It required no cleaning. Here is the latest occupant.
