Camillus 72 Clones

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

The 863's and the 63's always catch my eye. Cool pick up on that one. I have a72 rehandle bought but the seller moved during the buying process and has to sort out his stuff to find the knife. Hopefully it shows up. I think it might be a Herman Williams. Either way it looks knice in the pics. Congratulations on the new pick up. ::nod:: ::tu::

Skip here's an 863 I have. Mid to late 50's I think with bone handles and the Kon-Kav etch.

That's a beauty Greg! ::tu:: The knife that I'm waiting for will be my 7th Schrade 863. I
thought that I had all the 863 variations covered.::dang:: Now I have to check them to see if any
of them have a Kon-Kav etch. :D

Greg, those are hard to find and that one looks to be in excellent condition. Congratulations on your acquisition. I have those marked as being made '53-'62 (maybe that was for KON-KAV only) but also recorded as '53-'73 ::shrug:: . In fact, it's my understanding that Schrade didn't start making the 863 until '53. Maybe a Schrade expert will know for sure.

As far as Schrade 863 variations go, I know I need the KON-KAV knife. I "think" I have all the tang stamp variations. If there are three tang stamp variations, then I have them all. The first 2 pictures belong to one knife. Pictures 3 & 4 belong to another knife and picture 5, to another knife. All three knives are Schrade 863's. Here they are, not in any particular order.

Today, my collection of Camillus 72 variations welcomes the latest addition. Another Schrade 863, 3 blade, swelled center, "whittler" pocket knife. This one is my seventh (7th), 863. The tang stamp "appears" to have been partially ground off. Enough of it remains to see that it is a SCHRADE "WALDEN" tang stamp. The other side has the pattern # 863 stamped. It required no cleaning at all. Here are the pictures that I took. Click on a picture to ENLARGE.

This pocket knife will soon be joining my family of variations. Another Camillus 72 (72Y Yello-Jaket), yellow handles, 3 blades, swelled center, "whittler." When it arrives, it'll get the once over, but it looks like it's in very good condition. I'll take pictures and post them in the appropriate location(s).

This one here is on the way to me. I got it in a bunch of knives.....
It is marked "Imperial"....
SO, what does this mean?
Was this one made by Imperial in the #72 (or 1047) style?

(Sorry for the poor pics...... This is sellers pics)
.

Any foresight, hindsight, or insight is greatly appreciated.

Nice knife Mike. ::tu:: I have two variations of the Imperial, 3 blade scout knife. As far as I know, there are no other Imperial variations. Pictured below, are the two that I have. One has a brass colored shield and the other has a silver colored shield. Both have different tang stamps. I am always on the lookout for other Imperial SCOUT KNIFE variations.
