I only collect Schrade knives, mainly folders.
These are some of the fixed blade knives that have come alone, over the years.
Some of these knives came from Australia, England, Israil, France and even the U.S.A.

Koldgold you've sure got some great looking fixed blades. Your photography is excellent too.

Looking at all those knives of yours reminds me of just what was lost when Schrade went out of business. ::teary_eyes::

Traded ole Junebug for this Jimmy Buckner custom some time back. It's a real handful ::super_happy::
Just got around to taking pics.

9 1/2 OAL. It's 1/4" thick at the tang! Per a phone call to Jimmy, the blade is 1084 and the stag is sambar.

Can't keep up with the beauty of some of these collections. I'll go the route of heart strings...

This is my grand-father's hunting knife. There's no stamp on it. As best we can tell, he got it in the 50s from a surplus store as he was gearing up to take his boys (including my dad) on camping trips in Quebec. He used on his deer and got his first in the mid 50s. The handle has 3 notches.

He took me hunting for the first time in the late 80s. His custom made sheath had fallen into disreapair so I relaced it for him.

When he passed, I got his gun and Johnson Woolens jacket. The knife sort of disappeared. A few years ago, both his sisters passed and the family homestead was in mothballs. My cousin let me and I dug around the house. Found the knife and didn't bother asking. Just took it.

Grandpa's knife is, um, a lot of knife. I found this on the bay last year after looking around. Restored the blade. Really digging it. Lots of fun to use making fires.

But, it didn't have a sheath. My grandfather got me a leather working kit when I was a kid. My boy still uses the leather wallet I made back then. So, I asked him to make me a sheath this year for Christmas. He did all the tooling, dyeing and lacing himself.

The last one was a gift from my brother in law. I couldn't warm up to it's clip point and found it didn't slice well. Dropped the tip to a long drop point and thinned the blade. I use it nearly daily in the kitchen now.

Wow Dave, those blow anything I own completely away.

I only wish I had one knife that was as valuable as these are - seriously.

Beautiful, man.

Nice Barkie, Tank.

I just seem to keep being drawn to stuff Mike does. Even the older stuff, I see something I really like, and then I find out it was his doing or his influence …

Re: Show off your fixed blades!

Recently I received this lovely little fixed blade from Ed Caffrey "The Montana Bladesmith". It's an EBK II from his EBK ( Economical Belt Knife ) series. It measures 6 1/2' overall with a 2 3/4" ( Wharncliff ) blade made of deferentially heat treated 1084 Carbon steel. The blade is a flat grind with a convex edge. The handle is blue/black G10 with nickel/silver lanyard hole, and the sheath is Kydex with a multi position Tek-Lok belt clip.

Included with the knife is a complete description of the knife, two pages of knife care "do's and dont's" and a personally signed "I will make it right" guarantee. Ed also offers a lifetime cleaning and sharpening service. You just provide shipping both ways and Ed will do the rest.

The EBK series currently includes both Drop Point and Wharncliff blades with plain blade or partially serrated versions available, and a variety of G10 scales can be fitted.

Based on this EBK, there may be another Ed Caffrey, designed and made, knife in my future.

Here are a couple of pictures:
