My latest Schrade

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

Dale, Only have a single spring in SCHRADE WALDEN. No pic posted as yet.
Yeah, didn't post anything for 6 months last year but was still adding to the pile.
Can only find a bit of time now because we are in the middle of our wet season.
Last few days over Easter I've been putting my knives on my new PC program I got
last week.
Will dig out the single springer tomorrow and post a pic.

Gary, the 863 is same-same Camillus #72 (shown below). That pattern has crawled up my butt and I currently have a dozen (one is on the way). I'm hooked on the Carpenter's Whittler. I'm searching for a Schrade 863 I can afford, in the same condition as yours appears to be in. The Schrades seem to go for more than the Camillus, Remington, Powr-Kraft, Craftsman, Imperial variations.

Good looking knife. Thanks for posting it.

Here's a little bloke I've had for a while.
I had to mark the blades when I was putting them on my new program
to identify the pics. ::mdm::
The blade says it.

Gary.
It's because the one I posted is from the early mid-'40s before they stopped using bone for handles and went to composite handles (Delrin, etc).

I took a closer look at your 863 and it looks dead mint. It's a real beauty. Any idea when it was made?

Nice Gary, I like that 761! They were only made for about 6 years or so.

Too bad the one blade on the 787 is short. If you open the full blade be careful when you close it.
I had one with a short blade and the long blade tended to catch on the short one when closing.
Nonetheless, it is still a good find, not too many of them around.
