I’m hoping to just learn on them. I’m hoping to get good enough to change blades, rehandle & other repairs. I DO NOT plan on swapping parts to sell, being a CHRISTian I just couldn’t do that with a clear conscience. I just want to be able to do it for myself.
I have ended up with lots of them from my days prowling the flea markets. I think you have a good idea about using them to practice on  better to make a mistake on a junker than a 1925 Case XX ....
Wish I had more flea markets around me.

I see damaged or abused Case knives on Ebay occasionally that have potential to be repaired with some polish or new scales. If I had the time and will to get into the art of knife restoration, I would probably have a couple of hundred instead of the dozen or so I shined up.

My end goal is to hopefully use the ability to grow my collection.
