Request for Prayer

There are times in each of our lives that rain falls, hard times come and it helps to reach out to our friends and to our God for a little support. This is the place to express those needs, concerns and situations so others in the AAPK family can keep you in their prayers.

Well I had my "intake" appointment with the Pulmonary & Critical Care unit in Grapevine yesterday. The doctor went over all the previous findings and agreed it is Pulmonary Fibrosis. Now I have to go through a group of tests to establish a baseline condition of my lungs and then they will determine what treatments I will go through. The only thing that scares me is this one medicine that has some very bad side effects that I would have to start with for three weeks. So I would greatly appreciate your continued prayers but I'm not going to bore you with posting every time I have an appointment or take a pill. No matter what happens God is in control of it all. God Bless.

David, I pray that you tolerate the meds well and they work for healing. With help from The Great Physician I pray you will be able to continue your normal activities. Our bodies are amazing in their ability to adapt.

David, we're all marching toward that final day. It's all in His hands, you posted a verse while back, Matthew 6:34, that we should all live by.
Praying you'll weather this storm.

I guess I should update my status or my condition. As I stated in my previous post the medicine did have some very bad side effects and I ended up in the ER with about 13 of those side effects, on of which they had never seen before. I thought I was going blind because it was getting increasingly harder to focus. Of course I came off the medicine and by the time I got it out of my system I was so fatigued I could hardly stand for a few days but I got my eyesight back to normal . I got back to my usually self and going about my business but the fibrosis is still there of course. I am finally getting back into to clinic on the 29th with a different doctor and we'll see what happens next. I'm still limited in my activities, I'm walking with a cane because I get out of breath quickly and sometimes I still have episodes of vertigo. It's day by day, some are good and some are not so good, but I'm not going to whine about it or roll over and give up. I have my Lord, I have prayer, I have family and I have good folks like all of you praying so what could go wrong. I'll post what happens after my next appointment, God bless.

Prayers continuing, David. I presume your doctors have thoroughly checked your status of all minerals. If not, tell them to do so.

I'm not sure, but over the past few months all of my different specialist have taken enough blood to fill a bucket.

Prayed for your recovery, and your continued faith and trust in the Lord no matter the outcome.

As Paul says in Philippians 1:21
“To live is Christ, and to die is gain.”

As long as Paul lived he served others and suffered for the sake of the Gospel of Christ, proclaiming the mercy of God to sinners of whom some believed, and in the same way took up their own cross as they walked in the Way.

And when Paul or any of God’s children are called home, it is gain and mercy. They finally have the fulfillment of the promise of eternal life with God in eternity; where there is no death or crying or pain as God wipes away every tear from their eyes; only joy peace and love in our merciful God.

Thank you for sharing your struggles and your walk of faith in the Lord. Who know how many people you have encouraged by your example; I know I’m one of them.
St. John Chapter 1
...12 But as many as received him (Jesus), to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God...

Update on my pulmonary fibrosis. A few weeks ago I had another CT scan on my lungs and today I went to see the doctor at the Dallas Pulmonary Care Unit in Grapevine. In comparing this scan to the last one there is no significate change which means the disease has not gone away, it just hasn't advanced any during this time period. I told him that's not a surprise, I've got too many prayer warriors out there. I don't have to go back until mid January unless my breathing changes. Thanks to all of you for your prayers and may God bless you abundantly every day. ::handshake::
