I believe what you have is the Cut Co predecessor to the 2OT, the first in the series of the Old Timer knives.
I have some old unused Schrade Cut Co blades. I probably have the correct blade for that knife.

Schrade made several knives in variations of that pattern, but the only one I could find with a spear blade is the one with the ebony handles in this picture. The pic is from a 1926 Cut Co catalog. They show another that year, the 2203 ¾ with a clip blade & bone stag handles. Perhaps yours is a variant not listed in the catalog.

You can find the catalog & others on Collectors-of-Schrade:
http://www.collectors-of-schrades-r.us/ ... /index.htm

I hope this is helpful for you.

I've noticed in the catalog description it doesn't list the type of blades, it only says there are 2 blades... ::shrug::
I would've guessed it to be model # 2203 - the one with bone stag handle (in catalog)

The 2203 was shown in the 1926 catalog with a clip master blade.

I think the only difference between the 2202 & 2203 is the master blade and the handle material. I have no doubt that the frames were interchangeable. So if a customer, say Belknap Hardware for example, wanted some with the spear blade & bone stag handles, it would be a simple matter to have a few dozen or a few hundred made up to meet their request. They were just not listed in the Schrade catalog that way, or at least in any of the catalogs I have access to at this point in time.

It has often been observed that Schrade made good knives, not good catalogs. Based on the research I have done, that was true right up until Imperial Schrade went out of business in 2004. Catalog errors & omissions were rampant with Schrade. I have seen the same knife listed with two different sizes, both running for several years. So to have a pattern that is not listed does not surprise me at all. There are a number of Old Timers & Uncle Henrys that were made for a specific customer such as Wal-Mart or Smoky Mountain that are not listed in the catalogs. Such knives were known as SFO (special factory order).

Here is the pic of the 2203 and a 2533 from the 1934 catalog.
Both have bone stag handles, but the 2533 was much smaller than the other two.

I don't see anything about the 2203 being a clip blade, but ::shrug::
the catalog leads me to believe that the 2203 is the same as the 2202, only with bone stag handles...

The 3/4 on the end of that model number indicates a substituted clip blade from the normal spear. Anytime you see a fraction on the end of the old model numbers, it's code for the type of blade that was substituted for a spear:
1/4 - spey
1/2 - sheepfoot
3/4 - clip
7/8 - razor point

The last number on the 2203, the "3", is the code for bone stag (jigged bone), change the three to a two, and it's ebony, one and it's cocobola, etc..

I always thought this one, shown with a 2OT was a 2202, but I am not sure what the wood is. Not Ebony, and not Cocobola, it might be Rosewood?? Wonder what the pattern number is??

no its not. it is listed but not pictured --- you might be thinking of the 2203 3/4 that is pictured... it has a clip blade ::smirk::

sometimes it helps to actually read the print instead of just trying to match "da pikshurs"

Time for an update, to include a different category of Schrade Jigging.
Here are two pictures of Schrade Jigging, that I've been comparing. My conclusions are tentative, and subject to further input, but it's what I've got so far. They appear in oldest to youngest order (check that will ya Fran?).
Left to right, top row, three knives; "pickbone, made with fine gouges or chisels. Next to that, three with "Schrade jigging", maybe on George's jigging machine.
Second row, "basketweave" a new setup on the jigging machine??
Last three knives, what has come to be known as peachseed, thin cutters forming that beautiful pattern we all know so well!

Guys;
I spent the past weekend purusing the AAPK site and looking at old topics and posts that caught my interest.
I have just been blown away by the older Schrade knives ya'll have posted as pics. Truely astounding old knives. Very impressive and a great history.

upnorth, not to get way off topic of this thread but do you have any known for sure Rodgers jigged bone handled knifes to compare side by side with the three basketweave jigged bone handle knifes in your second picture?

Here's a nice example of early Rodgers. Not my knife, but a good example. It was generally jigged with a more shallow cut, and more random than that of a lot of competitors.
