Thought you would find these shots interesting David, i will show a previous shot so you can compare the results. This is the darker side after 48 hours in a 3% hydrogen peroxide bath.
This is the same side after a further 24 hours in a 6% solution, i was trying to get more dye out and make it lighter to match the other side, but as you can see virtually no difference, maybe a bit lighter, If i was doing it again, i would do it with a 6% solution from the start.
This is it having a mineral oil bath after i cleaned it up, there was some tarnish from the hydrogen peroxide, it came off easily with some 600 grit wet and dry sandpaper, i then gave the bone a final smoothing with the same sandpaper, i will leave it in the mineral oil for e few hours to stop the bone from drying out to much, it has been through some traumatic surgery
