And my thanks as well to Neal and the other members here who took the time to discuss this. It all has been a great help to me.

Re: Cased Display of English Sloan/Kingsway Folding Knives
Thanks doglegg and Frank.
Maybe it's just a fuzzy picture, but it looks like there's some pitting on the blade of the stag handled folding Bowie near the top of the display.
If that is the case, it might be caused by the yellow handled knife directly above it which might have a celluloid handle and may be outgassing.
If so, you will need to get that knife and any others with celluloid handles out of that display or they will continue to harm the other knives.

Re: Cased Display of English Sloan/Kingsway Folding Knives
Neal, the blade of the stag handled folding Bowie is pitted as are the feeler gauges on the set to the left, which has gold scales. The knife at the top left has silver handles and the checkered handled knife above the stag folding Bowie looks like horn or ebony and its blades are pitted as well. When I had the case top off to clean the glass, I did all that I could to stop any further rust on the few that were that way. That was years ago, and it seems to have stopped any further deterioration. The rust shows only on a few knives at the top left - I thought that sometime in the past that there was moisture in this area that got through the wood backing.
The only celluloid handled knives are the four vertical knives just below the arc of the pearl handled knives.
I really appreciate your observation though - to help me keep an eye on this.
Frank
