Re: Mil-K, Utility Knives
Today I add this pocket knife to my "general" CAMILLUS pocket knife collection. It is a 1960 CAMILLUS, single blade, 3 tool pocket knife. A nice companion for the 1949 and for the 1959 that I posted here previously, on this page. It needed a little cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

Today I add this pocket knife to my "general" CAMILLUS pocket knife collection. It is a 1958 CAMILLUS, single blade, 3 tool pocket knife. A nice companion for the 1949, the 1959 and the 1960 that I posted here previously, on this page. It has a few issues, one of which can be fixed. It also needed a little cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

Re: Mil-K, Utility Knives
You are on a roll finding some really nice old Mil-K knives. That’s quite the modified bottle opener. I wonder what the story is behind that?
I see the can opener has been ground down too. Are you going to replace them?

Re: Mil-K, Utility Knives
Thank you.
No, I'm not going to do any replacing of the blade or tools.
I do want to replace the missing thumb stud on the opener
and that's about it for this particular pocket knife.

Re: Mil-K, Utility Knives
I’m sure you are aware, bit I’ve read it was actually a tool to use on an M1 Garand? I’m glad you are leaving it intact with its original blades.
For some reason I like the way they look when the stud is missing.

Re: Mil-K, Utility Knives
I would leave the thumb stud off if it were easy to open the tool, but it isn't.
Now to find one.

Thank you.

I took the thumb stud off of a piece of crap USMC multi-tool pocket knife
that I have. It was way too big for the 1958. It has to be pretty small.

Re: Mil-K, Utility Knives
Fished a couple of WW 2 Mil-k, Utility knives out of the bay. The first one is a first generation rendition of the then new KNIFE, POCKET GENERAL PURPOSE meant to replace most of the pocket knives that had proceeded it. The Marine Corps knife is a little different in its first generation as the screw driver was paired with the main blade. The second generation had the can opener paired with the main blade like the Army's. The second one is such an example. It is missing the thumb stud on the screw driver but does have remnants of the KINGSTON mark on the bail.

John you have quite a collection. I have been tempted to look for the Viet Nam era knives but have tried to stick to WW2. These came up and well my resistance failed. Thanks for the pics of yours. And yes we do seem to be attracted to the same knives. Thanks for the encouraging words.

Today this pocket knife joined my "general" CAMILLUS pocket knife collection. It is a 1959 CAMILLUS (my 2nd), single blade, 3 tool pocket knife. A nice companion for the 1949, the 1958, the other 1959 and the 1960 MIL-K's that I posted previously under this topic (page 2). It is in EXCELLENT condition and required minimal cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

Today this pocket knife joined my MIL-K pocket knife collection. It is a STEVENSON 45 (stamped on the bail), single blade, 3 tool pocket knife. A nice companion for my CAMILLUS 1949, 1958, two 1959's and 1960 MIL-K's that I posted previously under this topic. It is in VERY GOOD condition and required minimal cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.
