Coronavirus has struck our family

There are times in each of our lives that rain falls, hard times come and it helps to reach out to our friends and to our God for a little support. This is the place to express those needs, concerns and situations so others in the AAPK family can keep you in their prayers.

Father in Heaven.... Please continue to be with this family and especially Gary.
Father, we know Gary is frightened by this disease. Please give him comfort and let him know, You are in charge. Please help the medical team to help Gary recover from this virus. May you power be manifest through Gary's illness.
May you will be done.
In Jesus name.

UPDATE: Praise God who hears and answers our prayers. We were told Gary's fever has broken and he is breathing a little better this morning. He is still on O2, breathing treatments and a bunch of drugs. The hospital told Dee (who can't be there) that he is doing better, but feels pretty wiped out right now. Thank you everyone for your prayers and thoughts for my brother and other family members.

UPDATE: Everyone my brother's wife Dee just called to tell us that Gary has been moved from the hospital in Round Rock to one in Austin. His oxygen levels keep dropping and the pneumonia was getting worse. Also because of the low O2 levels he was having hallucinations. The hospital he is in now is suppose to be better equipped for COVID patients and the associated complications. I want to go down there, but we can't see him, Dee or any of the others, and for all I know the whole darn city might be quarantined. Right now I'm just trying to stay busy so I don't think about it, but I find myself praying about every two hours for him. ::pray::

David....
What you just said you are doing is the best thing you could possibly do.
I know you want to be there in person but since that isn't possible you can be there in spirit. You think of your brother many times a day and pray for him many times a day. God hears those prayers and He will send his angels to watch over your brother.
Heavenly Father... we know we never can understand how You work but we do know that your wisdom is perfect. Father, we ask that you would give your angels charge of David's brother. He needs your help and your comfort. Please give David that same comfort and assurance.
May your will be done.
In Jesus name.

David, you are doing the best thing that can be done right now under the circumstances. Keep praying.

I am praying too.

David, i am not one who prays but i can offer some hopeful encouragement. The death rate from Covid is about 1-2% so Gary has a 98-99% chance of making a recovery. Even so it is very serious as some people remain acutely ill for 3-4 weeks. Being bed ridden for such a long time leaves the muscles very weak and it can take months to get strength back. This is just from being in bed even if you are not sick.
It will be a long haul for your brother to get back to normal health but at least the odds are strongly in his favor.

UPDATE: Just wanted to take a moment to let everyone know that my brother Gary was released from the hospital today. He is not 100%, but he is well enough to go home and continue his care. Praise God and the skilled medical teams he has come through it and will make a full recovery.
All the other family members that were positive never got systems worse than a bad cold.
On Gary's behalf and the rest of the family, thank all of you for your caring spirit, well wishes and prayers. You are truly a blessing.

Good news for sure ! I imagine this has been a frightening time especially for your brother. I hope that i do not get to experience this.
What an 'odd' virus this is. Other infected family members hardly got sick, but one, Gary became very ill. So far there is no explanation for this.
