I was confused by "Can Punch", but "Beverage Can Opener" clarified that these were knives with what I always called a "Church Key".

You're just a pup, Kevin! According to a Google search, soda was first canned in 1959 (Royal Crown being the first), and pull tabs were patented in 1963.

Well, I guess it was the older pull tab cans I crushed against my forehead. I should’ve remembered that, I also made “chains” with the pull tabs.

Pretty cool info Ike. I was born in 1960 so yep, I dont remember the sodas like that. I did get sodas in fountains for a 5 cents And you could buy a bottle coke (those small coke bottles) for a 5 cents. Some days I feel like a very old pup!!
