I'm with you Bill, church key is what we always called them.Gtrclktr-351 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2026 2:13 pm I was confused by "Can Punch", but "Beverage Can Opener" clarified that these were knives with what I always called a "Church Key".![]()
That's cool!! Before my time, I think, but oh so cool!!!Miller Bro's wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2026 6:46 pm For those that never seen a soda can without a pull tab![]()
Those soda and beer cans weren't like the "modern" ones. I used to smash empties against my forehead.Miller Bro's wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2026 6:46 pm For those that never seen a soda can without a pull tab![]()
You're just a pup, Kevin! According to a Google search, soda was first canned in 1959 (Royal Crown being the first), and pull tabs were patented in 1963.woodwalker wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2026 6:58 pmThat's cool!! Pretty cool info Ike. I was born in 1960 so yep, I dont remember the sodas like that. I did get sodas in fountains for a 5 cents And you could buy a bottle coke (those small coke bottles) for a 5 cents. Some days I feel like a very old pup!!Waukonda wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2026 7:12 pmYou're just a pup, Kevin!
