I worked for NCR twice for a total of about 15 years.

This one's similar to a Classic SD from Victorinox. Made in the USA, but looks nothing like any Case I've seen.

I believe these are fairly recent--probably within the past 20 years or so. Really nicely made little knife. Need to pick up a used one for EDC, as I think it will do nicely, given it's wider than a Classic SD, but has exactly the same tools.

My only Zippo. Welchs is big around here . Lots of grape farms and wineries.

While going through some other small multi-blades (Italian-made), I came across this one. Never realized it was a Zippo!

The zippo knives great. Back in the late i80's Zippo came to a preserve I was working at and brought us a few pocket knives. He stated they was some of the first made and wanted our thoughts. He also, stated that he was thinking of putting advertising on them. The knives I've saw in the pictures maybe old but the ribbets are polished flat the the edge. The ones he gave us the ribbets was pressed and left sticking out. I used mine for a long time and still have it. I'll put a picture when I can.

I picked up this Zippo knife at a flea market on Saturday, been carrying it ever since. Carboline is a chemical company. I like the size and slimness. Condition is such that I don't have to worry that carrying it will decrease any collector value. If you look closely, you can see that someone in the past placed a clear sticker or piece of tape generally over the logo. I'm wondering if I can get some of that off with a razor blade.

Well, as suggested above, Goof Off did the trick to help remove the tape/sticker. I had to make several applications of it, and then scrape the loosened layers each time with a razor blade, but eventually it all came off. As you can see when comparing the before and after pics, it also removed most of the remaining red from the logo. This is of no consequence to me as the red lettering was already partially gone, and I bought the knife to carry/use, not as a collectable.

Difficult to tell from pictures how deep the letters are embossed on your knife, but if you want to you could give this a try viewtopic.php?p=969682#p969682

In your case sounds like nothing to lose. Might be a cheap and interesting experiment.

Thanks for the input. No, I didn't let it set 15 minutes, but I did read the directions , which say nothing about "letting it set 15 minutes". Here are the directions for use found on the can: "Apply to a cloth, then blot or rub lightly." Actually, I left each application on until it started to dry and get hazy in appearance, then I scraped. Probably 2 minutes or so.

My bad. I checked after i read your response. I in fact use goo gone. A different product entirely. Its, however,
also quite effective at adhesive removal

Not a problem. The products' names are so similar. I appreciate your interest.

Odorless mineral spirits also works well for removing adhesive. I use it to clean my paint brushes.

I have 2 of the smallest one.
My everyday carry for almost 40 years.
Small; razor sharp and extremely tough.
I broke the tip off the top one doing something really stupid years ago. Not a fault of the knife.

It is the best tool that I have found for opening watch cases. This knife works better than any purpose built watch tool that I have found.

The Tape measure is also a Zippo and it gets almost daily usage as well.

I buy and sell vintage pocket knives on EBAY (and occasionally on AAPK) and the Zippo Tape Measure is used regularly in my pictures to indicate size.

Anyone know what the Logo for the engraved one is for? 1R?

Found this one today at a local antique shop. Only the 2nd one l've seen without the money clip. The tang is deep stamped, not etched and there are different stamps on each blade. The company is apparently out of business( cannot find a listing and Chelsea is only 25 mi.from here). For 6 bux, l couldnt pass it up.

Seems like I have one of those money clip knives somewhere. I'm gonna have to get one or two of of these just to have some in the pile. I especially like Lanskys. x10.
