Ebay has so many items per day, there is no way they can police everything. They have computer search algorithms that spit out things it doesn't like, based on specific search keywords.

Any knife listing with the word "ivory" in the title or description will likely get booted. Same thing for "tooth" or "tusk". Even listings like "imitation Ivory" get flagged.

But I've seen quite a few knives go through without issue if they are called "mastodon bark". Believe me, the squads of hired button pushers at Ebay couldn't tell you the difference between a white plastic butter knife, and an ivory handled Case canoe.

I do not list on ebay but i think a description "top quality handles but not bone" along with pictures would inform any knife person. Actually it could be a creative outlet. "Large Beast handles" or "Handles by Jumbo" (sad story of Jumbo the elephant, killed by a train), or "Unmentionable handles". I bet ebay does not screen for "unmentionable".
