Thanks Bryan!
A pocket knife is still an intimate personal possession of the individual who carries it and consequently deserves the best of materials, finish and workmanship in its production. (Quoted from Boker's 1928 cutlery catalog).

Re: Thank You Bryan
Received my Book and 2018 Pin yesterday 9/13
Thank you Bryan and Richard.
Wonderful history.
Gives me a new perspective on many of my knives that you have described.
Richard has taken the research to a higher level and filled in many gaps that are missing in my other books.
My number one book on Knives of the Hudson Valley.
Thank you Bryan and Richard.

I didn’t realize I hadn’t renewed my premium membership until I was reading this thread. I was assuming Bryan didn’t have my new address, but then the P.O. did.
Then I realized.
Sorry Bryan

Re: Thank You Bryan
In addition to thanking Bryan for the copy, I'd like to thank Rich (as some others have) for an interesting, well researched and well written book. I haven't finished it all yet, but I'm learning a lot!

Bryan,
Thank you very much for your thoughtfulness in sending this book. My wife advised me this evening that it showed up in today's mail. Unfortunately I won't be able to read it, right away, since I am away for work. I can't wait to get home and get my hands on it.
Thank you again!
Respectfully,
Tom

Re: Thank You Bryan
I was as suprised as everyone else when I saw Jerry's post starting this topic.
I am humbled and very honored by Rich's dedication to this book. I know this history is the result of his lifetime passion for the knives of the Hudson Valley. He has told me stories of how he fished in the river behind the Schrade Walden factory as a kid. Rich grew up right in the middle of the area he describes. This book truely is a labor of love!
It was my privilege to help proof read this manuscript, my wife helped me with the proof reading. I am looking forward to being able to read it again for enjoyment and to absorb the information.
Thank you Rich for allowing me to help in a very small way in this project. It is a great honor for me!
Bryan, thank you for the fantastic job you have done with this project, I never imagined it would be printed in such a wonderful reader friendly format! No both you and Rich have knocked it out of the park!

Re: Thank You Bryan
Got my copy two days ago and immediately read it from start to finish in one sitting. I will confess that it helped that I'm currently confined to bed-rest by Doctors orders (which is being strictly enforced by my wife, the "bed-rest warden"). However, once I got into reading it, I literally couldn't put it down and she couldn't have pried it out of my bed-resting butt if she had tried. Well written, well researched, fascinating topic to any knife aficionado with tons of historical information and photographs. I'm now going to re-read it more slowly so as to be able to really absorb all the information.
This is a must have reference book for anyone who is at all interested in the beginning of the pocket knife industry in the USA regardless of whatever knife collecting focus or general level of interest in pocket knives they may have.
This book has literally transformed my bed-rest prison sentence into a (comfortable) pocket knife learning experience.
Thanks again, Bryan, for allowing me to be part of the AAPK community and for sending me this fantastic book. I already consider it an honor and privilege to support AAPK with a Gold Level membership; the book is just the cherry on top.
Cheers & Aloha,
~Q~
