And O.C., i also think a saw blade is a very useful tool but only when it cuts well. Many of the saw blades put into knives bind more than cut. The 3 makes i have found with good cutting saw blades are Victorinox (SAK), Schlieper (Eye Brand) and Schrade on the 97OT.
Have you ever tried the saw blade on your Camillus ? If it was made around 2000 it might have the same saw blade as the 97OT.

You guys have made some interesting choices. Just a small point of clarification: I never said you couldn't have a saw, only that you could have only one knife. I also never said that it was a post-SHTF situation. If you want to choose a knife that can also satisfy those additional restrictions, you are certainly free to do so - but the rules of this game do not require it. In a post-apocalypse scenario, I suspect we would all eventually be making our knives out of the nearest Prius hulk, then sharpening them on a chunk of concrete from the remains of I-10...

Interesting question you brought up about the saw blades effectiveness. I have used both the Camillus and a SAK Champion saw to cut green wood sticks while camping and both seemed to be effective. I also had both out and measured the taper on the blades, which on these saws serves the same purpose as set teeth on common hand saws. The Camillus toothed front edge measures .059" thick compared to the rear edge at .040". The SAK measurements run .055" front and .035" rear. So both have about .020" of taper from front to back to give some relief against binding in the cut. I recall that they both seemed to work OK, but I think the SAK may have had slightly sharper teeth when new. I think I have had this C4 since the early 1990s.

Case 63032.

At 3-1/2" closed, it's not too big to carry for work, and does the job on weekends. I like it because it has a fairly beefy PEN blade as opposed to the more common blunt end spey blade and it's slimmer than a 6318 and has more meat to it than a 6344. Pretty much spot on perfect for what I do with a knife (which isn't that taxing)...

Ok, only one...
Well, given the choice of any knife in the world, I’d take my much lamented childhood Stock. It was perfect. Solid as rock, able to withstand a small girl practicing ‘knife throwing’ against the house and just the perfect size. I learned a lot with that knife. It was unusual in that it had a tiny pen blade, no more that 1 1/4” long and perhaps 3/16” wide. I loved that blade for carving stuff.
Since that knife is long since in the wind, I guess I’ll go with ‘Honey’ my made in Italy Premium Stock. That’s about as close as I’ve got to my old one. It’s lighter in colour and a bit bigger but it feels much the same.
I think this old warhorse would do everything I need. Assuming that life would continue on normally, I really can’t think of a reason why I wouldn’t be happy with it.
I actually did have it as a work EDC when I first got it and it performed very well. The only problem was that I liked it so much that I was afraid of it getting destroyed or swiped and promoted it to my backpack knife!

Only one?...... only one.... naw man... that is just wrong in so many ways....
I carry AT LEAST one at all times.... and that one is the one my boys gave me for Christmas several years ago. I have had it in my pocket (hooked on the edge of my pocket) ever since the day I got it.

Now in addition to this one, I WILL stick one down in my pocket on the opposite side of my pants for general work. So I guess that eliminates me from the game. YEP, Many days I carry 2.... one for show and one for.....GO!!
