Dave, nice bone on your DL Catt. Would be neat to see an unused example to allow for assessment of degree of blade loss on yours. Master looks close to full to me, but i do not know Cattaraugus very well. Secondary was likely a Pen blade. It does show blade loss.
Maybe a more Catt. experienced member might comment on Master blade fullness ? Not my knife but i am trying to learn Catts.

Your equal end pen reminded me of a similar knife of my own.
Mine is 2 15/16" for some reason and without the very nice shield and clip blade.

Very cool! Yours is a 22769 (vs my 22779). Probably why it's a 1/16" longer?

I really like the sm serp stock! That master blade it has is really neat!

And an aside... That MOP Whittler Pen was a bear to photograph. The camera operator has a hard time focusing on the handles.

This is the only Catt. that I have. Etched for M. Klein & Sons. The stamp is very weak but it's there.

I think you are referring to the second picture you posted. The pattern is a Small Serpentine(aka "Dogleg") Jack which in Case lingo is called a "Peanut".
There are Serpentine Stock knives of this size but the frame is a different shape from the Jack.
Very nice knives and as always, great pictures.

Joe and Dave, you guys have been finding some great Catts lately. Joe the bone handled jack on page 2 and the pearl wharncliff penknife are especially nice. Dave, love that dogleg, great bone, and the serpentine jack (peanut) with the saber ground blade. TJ, very nice old lineman.

I was able to shoot a photo of the catch bit today on my #22779.

I just got this pearl 22793N today and it is right at 3 inches and has no catch bit. My 22769 has a catch bit like your knife.
So the pearl is longer than both knives, yet has a shorter blade. Also accounting for some blade loss on the pearl, but it would never have a blade as long as the other two because it doesn't have the magic catch bit.

That pearl 22793N is lovely! By the way, I have a hard time photographing pearl and having the photo come out decent, for some reason. I'm going to need to do some more experimenting with taking pictures of it.

I just got around to looking at this thread; I love those old Catt's. Does anyone know where I can look at old catalog pages?
