Here's a slabside with amber bone scales that I purchased
some years back from Howard & Tiese Thomas
Don't see too many scrimshaw on bone scale's or fixed blades
I think he is one of the best !!!

Here is a genuine tortoise shell made by Bulldog.
This is a 2 5/8 inch closed 2 blade Pen Knife and has the Standing Dog 1996 tang stamp. The master blade has a fancy Pitbull Trademark etch with Genuine Tortoise engraved on the reverse. This knife with Genuine Tortoise Shell handles and is 1 of 3 Prototypes. The knife scales were originally for J. Primble Belknap knives that were produced in the 1930’s. No more of these knives will be made-ever. This knife comes with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA), verifying that only 3 were ever made.

Hukk I have always admired tortoise shell and always keep an eye out for authentic shell, that knife is truly spectacular, my eyes are hurting from the eye strain..

My wife has been bugging me to go to some antique dealers. I just may go look for some items made with tortoise shell. You know what happens to them after that!

I don't know if this qualifies for exotic but it's a Northwoods Slim Jack with Buffalo Horn jigged to resemble Impalla horn.

Here is one I really like, and one of my favorites. It is a Bulldog 5 blade stockman, what they also called a Montana stockman. Don't ask me why, just marketing I suppose.

This model was the first release for the Bulldog 25th Anniversary set. This knife is Hand made in Solingen, Germany by Master Cutler August Scheidtmann. This knife comes with the Special Edition factory Box and COA. This is the only Prototype of its kind.

Bulldog Brand knives chose to use Mastodon Ivory rather than Mammoth Ivory on all thier knives. I don't know how to tell them apart, marketing again, I suppose.

The Mastodon is another ice age mammal very closely related to the mammoth.

Here is a pair where I have the prototype and the 1 of 2, both of them. So 2 of 2.

Killer 'Dogs there Hukk. Absolutely awesome covers...

Here is one by Wendell Carson, using the outer bark portion of the Mammoth tusk, just lightly polished. He was one of the first I'd seen using bark...though I'm now seeing others use it as well, on some very nice pieces.

Thanks Bill! I like Wendell Carson's knives a lot. Those Fightn' Bull knives are a classy lot. Hey do you remember this knife?

Whale Baleen, what the largest mammals in the world use to feed on some of natures smallest organisms in the sea. Baleen is basically a filter used to strain ocean water for tiny plankton and krill. I've had the pleasure of watching humpback and blue whales feeding in enormous schools of krill off our coast while salmon fishing.

Last article I read claimed there could be as much as 100 metric tonnes laying in shallow ground or even on the surface in Northern China, Mongolia, Siberia, Alaska, and the Canadien Arctic tundra. Likely there is some in the most Nerthern parts of Europe.

Here's one not even in the books, a 1 of 1 Prototype Bulldog 5 blade Anglo-Saxon.
