thanks mike. it is a well made knife from seki japan, but the scrimshaw has to be one of his worst
. but i bought it anyway.
maybe its his picasso version.

This is posted elsewhere on AAKP, but shoot, why not? I'll throw it into the fray once again.
Made by Robeson, marked Terrier Cutlery Co. and made between 1910 and 1916.
The embossed bolsters read "TCC" and remind me very much of the face of a heavily browed turn of the century gentleman with pince-nez glasses and a handle bar mustache, kind of like William Powell in the movie Life With Father.
I know of no other example of this knife.

Still my favorite barlow pattern. Unknown Japan import - mid 70's prolly. Was missing one bolster when I got it, so I just replaced them both with brass. The bone was original and polished up nice. Holds a wicked edge.

Great job on the bolsters Toejammer - wouldn't have known that they were home shop replacements - you are a craftsman!
