great knives all ! here are a couple of my favorites a Challenge and a old Remington

Here's an old E.C. Simmons (not a Keen Kutter) with a big fat spear blade. Sorry about the poor picture but I thought it would be interesting to show an oddball jumbo whittler with a nice fat spear blade.

Paul, both great knives. What is that you've put on the blades and why? I'm assuming that what ever it is, it comes right off.

yes it is a can opener. Unlike the British Military knives, this one has a nail nick.

Jerry,thanks, some shadows but both have original etch. challenge the Bird archer co. & boiler chemicals on other side and remington mastersknife......

Ahh, gottcha. Please excuse my poor eyesight. I thought it looked like the blades had been dipped in something like machinists blueing.

The spear point is my favorite EDC blade style. Well, I prefer the spear blades that have a lot of belly to them and that are wider out near the tip, like those on the old BSA scout knives. I've just never taken to spear points that have the same width through out the length of the blade, like those on most SAKs.

im with you on that i like the big fat spear blades better than the stright ones but i do have a few stright spears that are swedged nice and look good

I love the big fat spear blades too, and GEC is making some real beauties. Here's one that a little more svelte, but doesn't this Kutmaster blade look good in a Camco frame? This is a repair job that Muskrat Man did for me.

Here's a big bone handled no name slip joint with a pretty big spear. 4 1/2".

It's a GEC Bullwinkel Moose, blood red bone.

I just got this from MuskratMan. SCWEEEEET. I have never before appreciated green bone.

This is a Camillus TL-29 remake with nice file work and razor sharp.
