I am picking it up in the morning, I will find out about the price and get some better pictures, I do know if he can make about 10 at a time the price will be better.

The base of mine is held on by two counter-sunk Allen Head bolts. Now that I've used mine for a little while now, I can see why that design is so good. Mine came from pg 19 of the same book. They are one handy critter. My guy has the program in a CNC Machine too, but the company he works for owns the machine. That means limited use and I haven't even gotten him to commit to any more yet.

What kind of steel did he use? Mine is A-4, a tool steel from what I'm told.

I picked up the steady this morning, I think it came out great, he made 2 of them and he is going to send the other one out to be treated with black oxide to prevent corrosion. It is made from 1018 steel, he felt this would be less likely to break on the narrow end, it could possibly bend with heavy use but could be straightened, it is even long enough that it could be ground back if needed. It is made to the dimensions on page 19 of Ben Kelley Jr.'s book. He will sell these for $150 shipped and treated with black oxide. If you want one made from a different type steel he will quote it. Here are some pictures, this one has not been treated with black oxide.

I have had 2 people contact me about these, my machinist is going to make a few and send them out for the black oxide, I will post them in the trade forum when they are ready.
