Well guys, I hate to be posting this but I think my dream room in the basement is done for. As mentioned before this is my grandmothers old house. She is in an apartment now and I pay rent to her. I have been here just shy of 3 years and this is the year I decided to clean out and re-do the basement. I remember back a few years ago she had gotten some water down there. For some reason I thought I was exempt. With all the rain we have had, I woke up at 3am today and decided to check on it. Water everywhere. The drain is in the other side and for some reason it plateaus off in between rooms. I have been pushing water for hours. It is ground water coming through bad foundation. Luckily, it will only get about 2" deep before running off into the other room. However, my carpets-soaked, bottoms of my displays-soaked, my patience-gone. I am 34, self employed, single, and there just isn't gonna be the extra money to put into having the basement sealed. So as I push this water with this giant squeegee for the next day or so, I will be planning whats next. A move upstairs obviously. I will try not to let you guys down with the new room. Wish me luck.
